This.

It's kind of a reverse ICM situation - under 100k chips you win are worth much more than chips you lose. It's really not that hard to understand.

If I won big on the show I was 100% going to Africa to volunteer .I thought it'd be worthwhile to take an amount like $25,000 and see how many people's lives we could change with it, then write a book about it.
so how many millions did you expect to win?
only a book? talk to nick c. maybe he's gonna do a movie about you hm?

If the flush came he could have easily represented it, but Jared isn't capable of thinking that way, hence the results.

^ yeah thats what i mentioned in my first post, by raising there you can rep the flush if it hits and if you hit the straight have a disguised hand because people dont think you'd raise an oesd on a flush draw board

Thanks for sharing this Jared. I did not really like the way u played but u probably didnt either after the show was taped.

Doesn't matter since it's not all about cards and money ( even if i sometimes forget this myself unfortunatly ). U seem to be a great guy and i hope u do well in life and just because 1 door was closed, doesn't mean another one won't open. I truly hope this will happen for you.

Didn't think your play was very good either Jared. Not saying I'm better, or would have done any better against those big-time pros.
You seem like a very good person, and I hope you always manage to keep up your positive attitude, and continue filling your dreams by helping others.

Surely the LC's strategy has to be to push every draw and play aggressively whenever possible. The pros will certainly fold hands they shouldn't while they don't have any info on the LC.

Gonzalez Cannon proved this bluffing early on. The pros didn't see him showdown and they gave him a lot of credit.

Jared, you're ****ing awesome.
Don't let criticism of past play bother you, no one plays perfectly.
Really happy to see you made it on the show, I had given up hope for it.

If you have some worthwhile comments about my play, I'm interested to hear them, please provide at least one hand history. To discuss poker strategy, hands serve as examples.

I already gave my reasoning in the OP why folding A10 suited out of position against two aggressive players facing a 3 bet is the correct play.

Q10 OESD in episode 1 is a good raise without the flush draw. The flush draw kills two of our outs to our straight if we're up against a flush draw. Also if the flush comes down it kills our action. We're almost direct odds on the flop to make the call. In my opinion on a rainbow flop, deep stacked, a raise there is great.
What a losing player period. You played every hand wrong you should of looked down once in a while and pretend what you saw was the nuts. played terrible its not about what hand you played the whole session from the start it seemed like you were going to go busto or be up like 5000$ at the end of the show

Jared,

I finally finished watching your week, and I want to say a few things.

Like most here, I found myself a little disappointed in the way a few hands evolved, and a little disappointed that you didn't seem willing to "roll the dice" as it were -- as others have pointed you, you have to gamble in this format.

...however, thanks for making the week entertaining by making me feel as though I had a stake in the outcome.

Your story, if nothing else, has been interesting to follow.

Don't let a couple of people criticizing your play (because they're mistake-free poker robots with 20-20 foresight!) get you down.

If you ever pass through Phoenix, dinner's on me.

I love how average 2p2ers are always ripping apart the live pro's passiveness then went on to sent one of our biggest noob ever to take on one of their challenges. Karma bitches, karma...

Even the businessman felt sorry for him for being such a pussy. LOL

This is not Jared Huggins responding here and talking about thoughts process and poker strategies.

The Jared I saw on the Big Game would have been unable to do that.

Your coach maybe is posting ?

whatever, about the fuddy-duddies here, Jared. i think going on that show vs. some tuff players took guts, even without putting up any $.
I'm a musician, and i used to get terrible stage fright. sometimes i would freeze up, and it was really embarrassing, and i was only playing in front of @100 people (classical music, so they are VERY elitist and critical (sound familiar)). I did finally get over it, but it took some real work.
could'nt imagine putting myself out there in front of such a huge audience.
I think you did well.
most everyone criticising you is just suffering from sour grapes; don't even trip.

Thanks bro. Yeah, it's tough for me to read the threads because it all means so much to me. Especially considering how hard I've been on myself about not winning already. Obviously if I knew how things would come out I would have done some things differently.

But for me its still about the bigger picture, trying my best to win, trying to win $ for charity...volunteering afterwards. I don't see how the way I look, or talk, can be more important than this video to raise $ for a something meaningful:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyHJ31QMEtk

I'm just amazed that with all the support 2p2 gave pre-big game that no one sat down and explained how to properly play in the format to this dude. I honestly feel really stupid myself for not taking 5 minutes out of my day to message him and explain how to play in this type of format, instead stupidly assuming that someone else would tell him or that he would just know how to play. You played solid for something in a normal format, but I can't praise you for that when it was just completely wrong for this setting. It would be like teaching someone to play great satellite tournament strategy, throwing them in a deep stacked cash game, and then praising them when they do exactly what you told them to do.

And its seriously annoying how you talk about helping charities etc. to give the impression off that you are some changed individual that deserves heaps of praise and has completely turned their life around. You don't have to put on a show for the camera, there is no camera, just live your life normally, thank people for what they have done for you, and get out there and actually do something. The most charitable people in life I know are not the people who talk about the charity work they do, they are the ones who are out there doing it. They don't look for praise and this is not their motivation, they don't need to let other people know what they are doing. Your motivation definitely seems to be to get the praise and help out your 2p2 image. I'm sure you will breeze over this, and I might get flamed, but there will definitely be people who understand what i'm talking about from the tone of your posts.

One of the hardest parts about the show wasn't losing, it was seeing how apathetic and sometimes negative the response was, to my attempts to do something meaningful for charity. Had I known this, I likely would have waited a while, until I gave away so much time and money to charity.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyHJ31QMEtk

I don't have an "image". My 15 minutes of fame came and went like I knew it would, I saw this coming, and tried to do something meaningful with it, that's the "tone" I've been using all along.

It was a special experience.

Leading up to the show lots of people contacted me expressing interest in collaborating on some type of charity work. When it came time to collect 5 bucks it became mission impossible. I didn't expect that.
