He's the younger, internet savy version of Norman Chad, minus the wife jokes. He does an okay job of filling the color commentary role. I don't see what there is to hate, but don't see too much to like either.

One thing I really don't like is how he embarrasses the fishes. That's just poor etiquette. Someone has to be -EV in a poker game, there is no reason to ridicule them on national TV for it.

I hate him because I've lost many hours to watching Pokerstars TV coverage that I 100% would not watch had Stapleton not been commentating.

I only watch pokerstars stuff these days. I think hartigan and stapes are great.

What's so impressive is Stapleton's volume of jokes. Maybe his sense of humor is just calibrated to match mine, but it seems like I'm openly laughing every five minutes or so, which is far higher than almost anything I watch.

I don't hate Norman Chad like some people do, but Stapleton's got more funny jokes in a 50 minute episode than Chad has all year. I guess Chad's probably ESPN royalty at this point, but I'd love to see Stapleton do all commentary for all events ever.

His Twitter is also Stapletonianly funny.

Maybe its an American humour thing, but I find him about as funny as a dose of HIV.
