Re: High Stakes Poker not expecting Full Tilts Pros this upcomming season!
To be fair to FTP, Stars did it first by disallowing Stars pros on PAD (sponsored by FTP).
Honestly, Stars pros are nits compared to FTP. How many stars pros are worth watching for? (I count 12).

Re: High Stakes Poker not expecting Full Tilts Pros this upcomming season!
so hsp will now turn into fox's the big game with no ftp pros?
and pad has no stars pros?
both shows used to be so good when everyone was invited. now its just dumb... this is even worse than replacing aj with kara scott..

Stars usually is such an awesome company that I have faith in them to fix this. Just make a nice deal for FTP. They might think not having sick line ups is not such a big deal for attracting new customers, but it are the sick line ups like HSP that people bring up to friends, and which makes new people watch and make them deposit on a site.

Re: High Stakes Poker not expecting Full Tilts Pros this upcomming season!
I was thinking about this today and it just pisses me off so much. Who was the idiot that sold the rights to the show anyway? probably some rich producer at GSN. Well guess what idiot, without Dwan and Ivey this isn't HSP. And without Full Tilt you won't have people like Gus or Galfond. All of those guys provide great action.
Now its gonna be like the big game, negranu whining and calling off his stack like he does on every show.
The reason I watch HSP is because people listed above outthink the other players and its something I can't watch on the internet. And no other show mixes hellmuth, dwan, ivey and negranu.
sucks man. alot of people on 2 p 2 speculate how poker TV is dying, well if this **** happens the nail has been driven in.

Re: High Stakes Poker not expecting Full Tilts Pros this upcomming season!
This thread makes me sad and a little bit angry.
HSP does need the battle between pros of all sites and amateurs. It's the one thing that makes it so much better than the rest. Ok, obv Gabe Kaplan is another great asset of the show.
There's a good reason why durrrr and Ivey were in all three lineups last season.

Re: High Stakes Poker not expecting Full Tilts Pros this upcomming season!
There are positives. I personally don't like Eli on the show. I will miss Ivey(although he doesn't always show up) Dwan and Antonius, but now they will have a whole bunch of HS online grinders which will be pretty sweet. I love the Big game for that. The big game with Ansky was awesome. Ansky is one of my poker heros(Barryg1 is by far the nuts though) and it'd be great to see all those guys like KoC, jungleman(hopefully) and all those PS $25/50 grinders. Less poker celebrities means more up and coming players that rate to have entertaining styles and play very well.

The title of this thread is incorrect and there is also no issue about superimposed logos on players as the OP said. However, Full Tilt has two major concerns. First is they don't like their players playing when PokerStars is the sponsor of the show. (I assume Full Tilt can buy ad time but I didn't check this out with GSN or PokerStars.) Secondly, they were unhappy that PokerStars bought the HSP archives. In the early seasons of HSP, the players didn't wear logos, so FTP is concerned that viewers will be able to go to pokerstars.tv and see the FTP players without logos and be confused by their affiliation.I was told that PokerStars will not have their name on the table felt, which I could see would have been an issue for FTP. At this time, the Nevada Gaming Commission is carefully limiting the presence of online sites in shows filmed there.
Neither Howard nor Mori were placing blame on anyone. The sentiment was that PokerStars, FTP, and GSN all make business decisions. As a poker player, I don't like restrictions and I wish everyone could play. Most of us would like to see the three top FTP cash game players on the show along with some of the other characters we have had in previous seasons. If they don't play, they'll be replaced by some new young stars of the game, some affiliated and some not.

Thanks for posting Barry.
I would think a massive % of people watching archived HSP shows on pokerstars.tv, are enough of a fan/player to know all the line-ups, so that should be a non-issue. Also, HSP was definately a Pokerstars show last season, and the line-up was pure with everyone, sho why must they ruin it??

Re: High Stakes Poker not expecting Full Tilts Pros this upcomming season!
I think everyone is over reacting a bit, I mean it sucks not having dwan ivey and PA, but its not like its only pokerstars pros that can fill seats. You can have hellmuth, esfandiari, farha, tony G, full flush, bonomo, haxton etc plus a whale or 2 who want to gamble it up possibly fill seats. Pretty sure its still going to be entertaining poker - I mean most people seem to like the Big Game and theres no dwan or ivey on it.... its not the end of the world
