Re: Final hand of '94 WSOP - Hamilton vs Vincent

He also gained a bunch of weight before this WSOP because the main event winner got his weight in silver, although that's pretty smart.
This is a croc. "Honey, I'm going to win the wsop main event in a few months, so I'll gain as much weight as I can now, because the main prize just isn't enough for us."

I knew Hamilton back then. I used to play weekly $10 blackjack tournaments with him at the Royal Las Vegas on Convention Center Drive. He was fat then, he was fat when he won the main event, and he is most likely fat now. Like fat people really need an incentive to gain more wait!

Re: Final hand of '94 WSOP - Hamilton vs Vincent

Let's say he did it: first, it actually worked. Second, it would've provided more motivation. It's not something that I or a lot of other people would do, but I really don't think it's a stupid decision. Actors have been known to put on weight for roles, etc.

I read Sexton's article about Hamilton winning, even the stuff about golf. It mentions him manipulating the scales, but nothing about adding weight. It definitely sounds like an urban legend. I found one source that says Hamilton ate some meals throughout the tournament, but that's not saying much.
