So far I'm liking the streamed coverage alot. I realize ESPN will need to edit for the general TV population will not be the same. I guess I'm just happy poker is still covered!

Yes, posted in February but if you scroll down you'll see this year's events listed with updates on winners and pay outs.

so utterly stupid that they don't stream featured tables anymore

the type of people who would watch the streams are the type of people who are going to follow the Main Event in real time anyway, so it's not like they'd lose viewership for their canned, packaged, edited-to-death, thirty-seconds-of-poker-and-then-three-minutes-of-human-interest-stories-before-a-commercial shows in October anyway

it's ridiculous

+1 this! It's only the main, you'd think they'd do a better promoting especially when the only thing going on is baseball and wnba.

I just searched youtube for "wsop one drop 2016" and there are several episodes of the final table up, on the channels "Poker Master 2016" and "POKER TOUR."

There's another channel called "John Pokers" that had everything last year, but nothing yet this year.

What are your guys' go-to channels for wsop action on youtube?

Nice try to hi-jack the purpose of this thread

To answer your question... it doesn't matter

All you need to know is, what the broadcast dates on ESPN of the episodes are.

Then less than 12 hours later, you can type WSOP [or poker] into youtube, and put last 24 hours in as the filter - then you will get a list of the people who have uploaded that weeks episodes

Seems like one or two ppl make them, then loads of others copy them [and try to blank out the logo of the person who actually did all the work] - but you can choose which persons youtube upload you want

I hope that answers your question

The real question though is... what's the broadcast dates on ESPN of the episodes

wasn't trying to hijack... seems pretty relevant.

i appreciate your thoughts on youtube.

regarding dates, i did a little research and found the following on Lon McEachern's twitter:

David @chickmonic

@TuckonSports @lonmceachern @NormanChad when will the @espn coverage schedule be released?

Lon McEachern ‏@lonmceachern Jul 10

I've been told new shows begin Sun. Sept. 11 and continue each Sunday until live Final Table. Subject to change obv

I've been hugely disappointed by the fact that there is no longer coverage of the early play in the ME. That was the most entertaining part for me, seeing all these random people hit crazy hands and knock out Phil Hellmuth on day 1. No bubble coverage either anymore. Most of the best moments I remember were from the early coverage...when that French girl got her pocket aces mucked...when that guy in a tank top hit a ROYAL FLUSH to beat quad aces!! Now, all of those moments are lost forever...like tears in rain.

According to Tuchman, ESPN crews were there filming ME day one tables. My guess is they are bunching the coverage to be closer to the November 9. Makes sense if the first broadcast is 9/11.

Im not exactly crazy about the fact that they will air on ESPN on Sunday nights, having to fight it out against Sunday Night Football. I'd much rather a Tuesday or Wednesday, but I guess we can always DVR.

Ahaha yeah. Microbob being sat next to Johnny Chan and calling his mate. Micons thriller dance and Randy "dreamcrusher" Jensen turning up with a book to read on day 1 so he wouldnt get bored and ko himself - and still getting kod.

Yea, day one was always goofy and fun.

I think the problem in general in recent years has been too many episodes though. The early broadcasts during the poker boom were very quick ('03-'04). At some point it became too bloated, with too much filler.

Lon was on the Pokercast this week and mentioned the airing dates.
WSOP Circuit Championship on Tues Sept 6th.

The 'excessive celebration' rule is what really killed the Main Event. It went from the most entertaining 'folk festival' to being a stiff borefest in a second.

I hate saying it but the fact that ESPNs WSOP coverage has dwindled so much does not bode well for a potential contract renewal. The ESPN contract ends after 2017 and if they don't renew (I'm guessing they're no longer interested based on current coverage), it might have a profound impact on the WSOP. That may include Caesars selling it which could lead to a change of venues and all kinds of other changes. Maybe I'm catastrophizing but I think some major changes are coming around the bend.
