Christ, where did you see this show being announced as comedy anyway?

cut the bs, it's so ******ed

Also, if you are ******ed, it makes a lot a sense that you don't get certain jokes

I def see some of the jokes being hard to understand for a 14 year old or a ******ed person

Pretty sure he writes his own jokes. He has an advisor (gobboboy) to help him with the poker analysis, but the jokes are all his.

too many 'inside' jokes not enough real-jokes imo. they should let me commentate im hilarious

edit: i dont mind him though. Its the non-poker guy commentating that kinda tilts me. his comments that show he doesn't really have much understanding of poker - 'Aces!!' and 'he not only plays it, he RAISES!". i know hes there to reach out to non poker people,, but hes annoying sometimes.

i think stapes is absolutely hilarious, and i'm a longtime fan of TJITH and PRR. now that gavin is gone from PRR, stapes and gobbo make the best tandem hosts of the show imo.

that being said, i think that in the past few weeks stapes has been kinda overdoing it. EVERYthing that comes out of his mouth is a joke, and its mostly one-liners. i think he should pull back just a little bit before it starts getting too corny.....

stapes is funny. i would download a bunch of two jacks in the hole when i was driving from dallas to vegas and listen to it for a couple of hours. in that format he had a lot more creative license to say things that he cant say when he's commentating on the poker stars big game. he was funnier on TJITH, definitely, but he's still entertaining on the poker stars cash game.

This. The "like a nerd with a hot girls number, Mercier calls instantly" is a funny in a theoretical sense, but it seems way too thought-out. Also his voice is kinda annoying.

I prefer Gabe Kaplan or even Normad Chad ("i don't think ANYONE should be allowed to touch Phil Ivey!") any day.

as far as i know he analyzes the hands so stapes can talk about them, and he also helps write the jokes since he has a handle on the goings on on 2+2 forums and such.probably gives stapes the ideas for most of the "inside" jokes
