Is it a poker show or is it a sitcom? Written jokes are held to a much higher standard than off the cuff humor. It's like when you're with a group of friends and a perfect set up arises for a great joke and you know it's far too witty to be spontaneous instead of laughing you say "How long have you been holding onto that one?"
I also hate it when a stand up comic goes on Leno and Letterman and they have Leno feed them questions that set up their monologues. Even though every guest on talk shows meet with the host before the show to go over what they want to talk about, it's especially cheesy when they're so blatant about it.
