What's the rarest thing you've ever seen at a live poker table? What's the rarest thing you've ever seen at a live poker table?

I had just sat down to see the end of a hand- a lady turn over 9-10 of spades to make a straight flush. The next hand I get dealt 9-10 of spades but fold because I was UTG. The flop comes 78J of spades, which would have given me a flopped straight flush. If I had played it, it would have meant that back to back straight flushes were dealt, both with the exact same hold cards - the 9-10 of spades. After the hand was dealt, I tried telling everyone that I folded the straight flush, but they were quite underwhelmed (or thought I was lying). I wonder how astronomical the odds are against that happening.

Anyone have anything they think is more rare?

AA v QQ AIPF.

Flop Qxx
Turn Qxx A
River Qxx A Q

I don't know or care to figure out the odds of a 2-outer taking the lead against an overpair, then the overpair taking the lead with a 2-outer, and then the underset winning with the one-outer, but it was a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

Set over set over set on the flop, higher set on the turn, river brings a fourth straight card and a guy with a one card gut-shot wins the pot. Limit game though.

In a tournament saw rainbow flop of KJT. Four people had AQ and last guy had KK. Board never paired.

Five handed pre-flop for $2 each. Flop comes random stuff and old guy bets $4 and called by a buddy. $18 in pot now. They turbo check-check the turn and river which brings miracle runner-runner jackpot hand. No jackpot paid because they didn't get $20 in the pot.

Stud game. Two old guys clearly have jackpot hands on 6th street with 3 straight flush cards showing for each and multiple raises going in. 7th street improves one of the guys to a higher straight flush which now ties the hand for a chopped pot. No jackpot paid because there was no bad beat.

5 players limp in for $2 in a 1/2 NL game...Checks to the turn which reads AKJT with 2 clubs. Bet, fold, raise, allin, call, call, allin, call, call...All players have a Q, but one is freerolling and scoops a $1300 ($1000ish profit) when a club hits the river...

At a 235$ MTT at our local casino, I got dealt AA in the BB, short stack limped, SB called, I raised, both called.

Flop came A J J . SB check, I check, Short stack shoved tiny stack, SB called I raised, SB called.

Turn J, SB bet, I shoved all in, Sb called. Showdown,

SB= A9
Shorty= T9
Me=AA

Quite a large pot, River came...... J

Chopped a huge pot, dealer from other table even came to take a picture with phone and had other people looking at our table.

It felt like I lost a huge pot.

Also this one was kinda funny...

Aggro player raises on the button, gets one caller.
Flop: AdKd2s. check, bet, call.
Turn: AdKd2sQh. check, bet, call.
River: AdKd2sQh3d. check, bet, call.
Button says "you got it" and is waiting to muck, but caller wants to see opponents hand first. Button finally flips jc7c for a pure bluff. Caller exclaims "I got the flush" and shows jd....8s...

Caller wins the pot with J high, 8 kicker...

If true, I think this has to be the winner. At a 10-handed table, the probability of 5 people being dealt pocket pairs is about 1 in 7250. Conditional on this, the probability that they all make sets is about 1 in 26,500.

Combined, the probability of both happening is about 1 in 192 million.....and of course much lower if the game is not 10-handed.

By contrast, the probability of being dealt AA three hands in a row (the rarest thing I think that has happened to me in poker) is 1 in 10.8 million.

AA vs KK vs QQ allin preflop (I had kings).

Q on the flop,
K on the turn,
A on the river.

However, the complete board were clubs and none of us had clubs obviously, so we all chopped it. That was pretty funny (but unsatisfying because I would have won a pretty big sidepot against QQ)

Now I think of it, it wasn't live but online, but I typed the story already so oh well *post*

Unbelievable!
Was playing at Binions 2 weeks ago.
1/2 NL.
We thought we heard the sound of dogs barking and yelping.
Looked over, and saw TWO dogs fighting to the death - IN THE POEKR ROOM!

WTF!?

Dogs (of course) are not allowed in the poker room.
It was two service dogs.
One was sitting quietly under the table at a man's feet and other walked into room with other owner and they got at it.

Now THAT'S rare eh?

I flopped back to back royal flushes, and all I got was 2 $50 gas cards. Did felt someone however when I bet big on the flop and he shoved with his set if jacks.

Having K9 and a flop of 3K9 (luckily this was a free bar tourney)

Informed the TD, misdeal declared and new deck brought out.

New deal gave me K9
...and a flop of 5K9

Also, getting dealt the Q five hands in a row from alternating decks.

utg+1 limps in on a straddle, i fold Q8 utg+2, button calls, BB calls, straddle checks. flop comes 234. straddle bets, utg+1 calls, button calls. turn is 5. straddle bets, utg+1 raises all in, button tank folds, straddle calls. river is 6, button slams the table angrily. straddle shows K9 and utg+1 shows AT

button had the 7 obv. every spade in the deck was accounted for and the board held a straight flush, and the one guy who didnt fold preflop would have taken the whole pot with the 7.

Was once dealt AA the first 3 hands of a tourny. I won a small pot the first time & got no action the other 2.
I actually showed the second AA after everyone folded & nobody belived me when I told them I had AA the first hand also. When I showed it on the third hand, after again everyone folding, the table was dumbfounded. BTW I raised 2.5X the BB all three times so it wasn't like I was putting scary raises out & I'll certainly never limp with AA unless I feel like going home early which will inevitably happen.
I actually finished 4th in this tourny for $931.
Yes this is a brag post.

i have 2 for you guys both took place at a home game, first one, three players get all in on a 328 board, hands are turned over to reveal 8x8x, 3x3x and A4, turn 3x river 5, set over set, turned quads, other guy rivers a straight flush. The other took place with a brand new deck of cards taken out of the box, after playing for about 2 hours a flop is dealt and there are 2 q on the flop,

Nearing bubble of smallish tourney: 5 way all in, no one was eliminated, two shortest stacks tied for best, third shorty second best, big stack worst, second stack second worst.

Approaching bubble of 3k survivor (winners got 3k a piece): 3-way all in pre: AcAsvs.KcKhvs.QhQd,QQ is short stack,KK big stack, flop AdKs3d turn 8d, river 6d, Qd FTW.
