The other night i caught a replay of WPT Bay 101 shooting star final table from 3 yrs ago. One of the hands featured Kai Chang and Joe Nguyen . Chang KJo Nguyen A 6d . Joe raises to 175k Kai calls . Flop Qc Qh 8c Kai checks Joe checks River 4c Joe bets 225 Kai calls River 4h Joe bets 325 Kai re raise to 825 Joe re raise 1,325 and Kai re raise to 2.3 mil Joe folds . I have a few questions on this hand. Has anyone ever seen something quite like this in a big series poker tournament let alone a daily nightly tournament? Was this all about ego vs ego for the television audience ? Was this poker at it's best between two masters of the game? My first reaction was moves of this magnitude can only be accomplished with deep stacks deep in the tournament . Attempting moves such as this at beginning stages of a tournament or when you are short stacked late is a huge gamble and virtual suicide to your tournament life . Any feedback ?
