I do feel bad for the guy because he did a good job and was mildly entertaining, but come on... his story about trying to retain his job just sounds incredibly unprofessional. Not what I would expect from a guy who has been in the TV industry for so long.

Virtually everyone in Hollywood who isn't an A-lister is broke all the time. And a whole bunch of the A-listers are broke also. Personality type, image maintenance, etc etc.

If you don't believe me, do the search yourself. All the people defending him didn't start until after he was fired. Go look for defenses of him before this. There's virtually nothing compared to the amount of posts slamming him. I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing that GSN has done. I'm only pointing out that nobody on 2+2 was defending AJ Benza or praising his job on the show until after he was gone. Then it was a wave of support. All I did was prove there were tons of complaints about him on the HSP threads, and there are.

My point is simply this -- the moral of the story is that if you guys like a TV show or like the people working on it, you need to voice those opinions before those people get fired or the show is canceled. Spending years ripping on somebody and then complaining when they are released is hypocritical.

1.) Around here, a lack of ripping IS approval, and most people were fine with him, and people would defend him in the threads. What are we supposed to do, keep posting "AJ's great!" five times per show?
