Disclaimer, I was not at room for this, story told to me.

Full cash game, 9 handed table.

S5 has been in game for hours, players have come and gone. S5 loses several pots in a row and asks for seat change #1. Gets the token.

S1 opens up and no players waiting. Several hands pass, S5 does not request to move.

New player shows and takes S1 and immediately asks for seat change #2. Gets the token.

Several hands pass.

Button on S8 as S7 opens. S1 says to S5, if you dont want that seat can I take it after button passes. S5 says yes 'because I want your seat".

3 hands go by and S1 has won 2 of the 3 and now says he wants to stay in S1. S5 goes ape crazy and demands that S1 has to move. Floor said no and S5 went even more crazy and left (eventually coming back few hours later).

I see no reason why S1 would be made to move but I thought I would ask if anyone has a place where the rule is they had to move, I cant imagine but.......

What's his reasoning to demand for another player to move?

No, of course not.

It's not relevant here, but I do wish more rooms were a little pushier about making people who want to move move immediately. Like when the guy who wants a seat says he wants it, but wants to wait seven hands first, then changes his mind. Or wants to wait 5 hands, and another guy waiting to come into the game has to wait and might have come in.

No way. You want the seat, you take it now, and then you wait a few hands if you don't want to lose your position or whatever. That's how it gets done when I am king.

Might be reasonable to let people finish the current hand before making them move.

His argument could be. I would have moved to seat 7 myself, but agreed to forgo that so that I could have seat 1. Had I moved I would have had more hands in late position which I now lose out on because he changed his mind.

The player doesn't get kicked out of his seat. He has first right to that seat. If he did choose to move, then the other guy could take his seat. Verbalizing you're moving your seat isn't binding.

Reminds me of a week or two ago two guys agreed to switch after the button or some ****, then one of the guy goes on a break. button passes, and the other guy is asking the dealer to move his chips. He got upset at the dealer for not letting him do it but I don't blame the dealer at all.

He doesn't have to move, but he loses his seat change button (has to give it to whoever has seat change #3, if anyone does, or anyone else who wants it).
