TV poker is full of narcissistic low self esteem attention whores, and these two are near the top of that list.

They are both much worse than they need to be at what they are trying to do. Too bad almost all the young crushers coming up have the personality of wet socks.

The old school live pros knew that they had to stand out to get noticed/coverage. Back then, of course, TV time actually had a dollar value with patch deals etc.

Now that money has gone, there's no incentive to play up to the cameras. Televised poker has suffered as a result.

Forget sportifying poker, just make it entertaining again for the masses. At least ESPN have got rid of the tells and strategy segments that were ignored by the casuals and ridiculed by the players.

I suck at poker....but aren't there like a zillion hands that Mckeehan can be bluffing with that have 10s beat?

Norm's opening quote was so apt. "If you want to live , you can't be afraid to die.

The guy with 55 was obviously afraid of loosing a lot of chips and so it cost him winning a huge pot.

But in his defense having the TV cameras hovering over him while he's making a decision for his tournament life and having other players at the table making side bets of the players holdings must have been extremely distracting. We didn't get to see how the betting went down but he clearly knew his opponent had a big hand , either AA KK or AK , if it were one of the first two then we would be amazed and raving at the laydown but unfortunately he was holding AK and so he ends up looking like a chump on national TV.

Whatever else you may think of them, the fact is that DNegs and Hellmuth make for great poker TV. And in previous years, the same goes for players like Esfandiari and JRB, if only to watch him get brutal bad beat after brutal bad beat (which he takes as graciously as possible). Jason Somerville also comes to mind as a much appreciated TV player.

Ivey, on the other hand, is terrible TV. Some other players who think they are god's gift god to poker (and act accordingly) also makes the Main converage hard to watch.

I don't agree with Laak's "pro analysis" on the 98s hand, I think it's a pretty good bet.. lots of Jx in his 3b calling range and Kim's sizing is good too. It's a pretty polarising sizing, he's never betting that amount with worse Ax and it was a rainbow board. Overall I think Kim has played pretty solid & seems a likable guy as well - only argument against that play would be villain who didn't look great & probably decided he wasn't folding an ace ever when he checked flop and didn't even realise how polarising that sizing was. On another note De Leon is the biggest nit ever.
