Even though 'Spits Hot Fire' is a reference to rap (Dylan on Chappelle Show) I posted that well before you started rapping. Your analysis in-game was on the level I would expect when paying for private coaching.

I disagree. Winning Tournaments is difficult.

What it really shows is just how 20-30bb tournaments are drastically different than deep stakes cash. They are different skill sets. And that even winning tournament players are good for a cash game.

No. No. No. Look, it's REAL simple. Tourneys are largely a crapshoot. That's why fish like Matt, Lil Harry or Jamie Gold sometimes win them. Sometimes they bink hard enough to win the Main Event or WPT Player of the Year. Repeat after me: they. are. just. fish.

Love Dave getting so heated with Bart over this, but I don't agree with him. I think that shoving Q9 there is kinda bad, but this was 2006 so I guess it's certainly possible that he could still somehow get called by worst.

You know what guys, you are completely right. Jamie Gold, Matt, Lil Harry are not just lucky fish who binked tournaments. They're actually crushers. What was I thinking? Carry on.

When more than one person calls you out, on the SAME crap, wouldn't you think maybe IT IS you, and not just everybody else? I mean....seriously....bro.

LATB 1/27/15 - Quick question regarding the hand @38:00 between Lil’ Harry, Brian, and D’Anconia. When D' semi-tanks on the flop does it lead you to believe that he has an Ace or some under pair/other holding? I wish that Lil’ Harry didn’t shove so that we could see if Brian would have taken another stab at the pot which would have told us how Brian reacts to D’s semi-tank on the flop. I ask because as a learning player, I take some time in-between decisions (In larger pots similar to this one) to see what the best ev move would be. On the other side of that, I feel like the semi-tank in some situations shows strength, but in most situations may show weakness and unsureness. Would have loved to see if the semi-tank smelled more like JJ or QQ to Brian and if he would have continued on the turn to keep selling his preflop aggression and fold out the underpairs.

I couldn't agree more with what you've been saying. Everyone else's responses are pretty lol.

I played LATB last night. It's easy to be a 2+2 master and critique people's play when you can see all the cards. Not so easy when you're in the game and facing tricky players who are easily dismissed as "donks". I think that's why Olaff's posts rub everyone the wrong way.

Amen bro. Until you play LATB, you have no room to talk.

Just wanted to say that the commentating has been spot on the last few shows. Melanie in particular has been good (maybe if only b/c she's seemed so bad/unfocused in the past). When she talks about poker she's very sharp and analyzes the hand from multiple levels. I think her dynamic with Tuck has been really good, they challenge each other in interesting ways. I think that she especially keeps Tuck on his toes - sometimes she seems a level ahead of him, forcing him to push a little further in his commentary than might be his initial impulse.

The problem is when she gets distracted, or goes on personal tangents (esp. while a hand is going down), it gets very, very frustrating. I think that she gets bored or uninterested in the lower limit games, or seemingly standard hands. But a good commentator can find something interesting to say about any hand, at any limit, they just have to try a little. And I think Melanie is getting there.

Nicole is fine for newer players, but she can seem a little out of her depth sometimes, and keeps reiterating the same ideas again and again; she phones it in at times.
