Tuck does a good job of filling the time, particularly when there are long stretches where not much is happening at the table. Which is why I actually prefer commentary with poker. In fact, you could argue it's even more important with poker than other sports which are self-narrating to a large extent. Even when the table talk is interesting, it's also good to have someone doing commentary a la what they used to do with High Stakes Poker. I'm sure there are technical challenges though doing a live stream and getting the mix right.

Can anyone tell me where I can watch the Big One for One Drop live this year? Either on TV or online. I know it's not being streamed on WSOP.com unfortunately, and that a highlights package will be on ESPN several months later, but haven't heard of any live broadcast. Thanks.

It will not be streamed anywhere. If the WSOP, and ESPN don't stream it there is nobody else allowed to because the a WSOP owns the rights and they have sold that event to ESPN.

ESPN doesn't want it streamed because they don't understand 21st century media where people who want more will consume more online letting them sell more advertising and better targeted advertising. The casual watcher isn't going to watch 10+ hours of poker! and diehards will watch both.

The original One Drop they played the final table live on ESPN just like they do the Main event. I am assuming they will do it this time around as well otherwise I see no reason they wouldn't stream it on WSOP.com

The reason is... the think we will watch the highlights package a month later - if we haven't watched it live.

Is it just me or does anyone else get the impression that those of us that want to watch a stream are just an annoyance to the WSOP ?

If you can't do it right, why do it at all? The huge amount of technical glitches during the main WSOP live stream with commentary make them look like a bunch of rank amateurs, or like apkrnewb said, it comes across like they don't seem to care enough about the viewers to put out a professional quality broadcast.

The only time I could ever get the second stream to run without buffering eveyr 5 seconds was when it ran on something called "**********", where it worked perfectly. Don't know why they would use this service only a few times, and the rest of the time run it on their on own screwed up server. At least you can watch the vids of many of the secondary streams which seem to play perfectly, albeit after the fact, on wsop.com. Just click on "Videos" at the top of the page.

I do agree though with some of the previous posters ITT who said he can be a bit boring when he doesn't have any guests, but also I give him huge props for being able to fill and keep going on those 8+ hour long shifts, especially with having hardly any breaks when compared to a typical network commentator.

I'm really sad that the live streaming with commentary is over for this year cause I've really enjoyed it, although now I'm rooting for Tuck to go big in his first time playing the Main Event. Haven't checked lately, but I know he had been in the Top 150 on his opening day, 1C.

Add: The secondary stream ran a few times on a service called " L I V E S T R E A M", where it ran great. No idea why the name of this service got censored above. It's hardly a bad word or anything.
