Bluffing into Dry Sidepots Bluffing into Dry Sidepots

Hi Folks,

First post in this forum (usually hang around in LLSNL).

Friend of mine is trying to convince me that if you're in position and are checked to you should bluff at a dry sidepot every time (even with an all-in player).

His reasoning is even if you're bluffing at the sidepot, clearing out the other players in the hand will increase your chances of winning the main pot (your K high is better vs 1 opponent, even if he is all in, than multiple opponents).

I don't think I can get behind this.

Obviously it changes if there's a bubble situation.

Any thoughts on this? I realize it's a hugely vague scenario but general thoughts on bluffing into empty sidepots are appreciated.

Nice one chaps.

Depends on the situation like with anything else. It depends on V's tendencies, board texture, our hand, stacksizes, AI player's range etc. Post a hand example and get responses. There is never a single play that is always optimal. This is why poker is fun.
