Anything but this. Personally, I'd like 5-10-15 rather than 7-15 but as long as you don't kill the traffic by bringing in more 9-man hypers...

Re: *** OFFICIAL PokerStars STT Suggestion Thread ***

We are considering various options for changes to leaderboards for Sit & Gos. Some of those potential options include a separate leaderboard for 45-180s, re-structuring Battle of the Planets or perhaps even a completely new approach to promoting Sit & Gos.

A survey seeking feedback on leaderboards and Battle of the Planets has been sent out to a representative group of players. If feedback from the survey indicates that Battle of the Planets isn’t a major factor for players when deciding what to play, we would consider changing to a simpler, cut-down version and diverting funds to other SNG promotions instead.

If anyone has any promotional ideas for Sit & Gos, by all means suggest them in this thread. Bear in mind that one of the major reasons for any promotion is to encourage new players to play Sit & Gos, although they have to make business sense as well. So while “Free money for all SNG players!” would no doubt boost the player pool, we probably wouldn’t go for that

Promotions should aim to attract new players rather than just moving a player from one game to another. Also consider the possibility of promotional ideas that might not benefit you immediately, but would indirectly benefit you in the longer term by boosting the player pool and making games more attractive.

I liked the iron man on FTP, recompensting the players on the volume played regardless of the profit

Some of us have stated already that we know we have to look at it on the business side too for pokerstars, so I am all for anything above.

The hyper turbo sngs satelites with 2 tickets to the SM, daily 55 etc have another structure than the regular $1.50/$7/$30 hypers. Please make these sats the same structure as the regular hypers. It has a much better structure.

SNG lottery tickets seem like something fun imo. You need to play x SNGs to receive a lottery ticket. Prices could be varying, bonuses you need to clear, step tickets, a seat to a SNG with a Pokerstars pro, a ticket to a certain freeroll, ticket to a satellite, amount of FPPs,...

People absolutely love the concept of lotteries, I think it would attract new players, but I obv aint sure about that.

I feel vollume should be rewarded regardless of profit like Fulltilt did but not so top heavy maybe, so that your average dude can actually compete.

SNG madness and happy hours were also pretty good on Fulltilt.

I sound like a Fulltilt fanboy lol, but their SNG setup was really good.

Just read the lottery idea. I think that would work really well.

I love the lottery idea, but please do not use the lottery to channel players away from sng again => ie do not award large mtt tickets as prices...

Volume is rewarded via the VIP system... Maybe you can increase fish their volume by offering them double rewards, but I'm not too sure. I do like the idea of some sort of Iron Man ish thing though, where you are rewarded for steady volume rather than total volume.

I feel like the problem with the Battle of Planets is as follows:
-Fish can rarely get high up the leaderboard, it is demotivating for them to see how many players are "better than them" and the chance of them winning a high spot is near zero.
-Regs still need to run stupid hot to get a shot at any significant money, which increases the variance of these games. I figure most regs would prefer less rake or something more volume based

What is good about it:
-It increases competition and incentive to play!

So what I would suggest is that you try and create the best of both worlds.

-Keep the leaderboards, but reduce the prizes to the Battle of Planets monthly freeroll tickets for the top 20 on each leaderboard.
-Use some of the money to create monthly volume based SNG prizes incentive like Iron man, some stupid example:
200 VPPs 15 days a month: 20 dollars bonus for the next month
500 VPPs 15 days a month: 50 dollars " "
1000 VPPs 15 days a month: 100 dollars " "
200 VPPs 25 days a month: 45 dollars " "
500 VPPs 25 days a month: 125 dollars " "
1000 VPPs 25 days a month: 275 dollars " "

This would not necessarily attract new players, but would create an uptick in volume over all types of players.

Then use the rest of the money to create a SNG lottery tickets to complete the fun, where you get a lottery ticket for every 20 raked SNGs you play until a certain point where you would then get once every 100. At the end of the month there is a big draw where you can find out wether your tickets won anything. This would deff attract new players imo.

At the moment, I can't give you a Yes/No answer. We know higher buy-in hypers would be popular. They would also have a significant impact on existing Sit & Gos. We just want to make sure we make the right decision. As soon as a final decision is made, one way or the other, I will post about it.
hi my dear

getting reasonable steaks for plo hypers wouldnt have zero impact on any form of sng because this section is a dead forgotten zone.

just do it please.

hilo is sort of halfdead only, plo is totally dead and now the scandis come man.
having only a 7$ buyin is borderline ridiculous.at least add 15 and 30, and afterwards u have my official permission to talk to the others again

deal.

I have cashed a couple of times in bop - it is a nice little bonus but.... I did so through running redic hot/lucky. Bop in itself gives me no incentive to play sng. Bop is simply free money for players who play higher roi/less popular formats.

I suggest spending the bop money on key rings, stress toys and t-shirts ......play 250 sng this month.....get your free 'I am a PokerStars SnG Grinder' t-shirt

Re: *** OFFICIAL PokerStars STT Suggestion Thread ***

To attract new players? How about a "play ten get one free week" for new signups? I know we all drool over grinders getting bigger rewards but increasing the player base is the long-term key to the future of STTs.

Never have liked BOP. I mean, yah, it's going to encourage fish to come back when they run hot and win a prize, but there's very little for the occasional player who needs to be incentivised to get a few more games in.

+1,

the guys that hang around the fringes of the game and log the lowest volume are not really encouraged to play by BOP

This is a really great idea and I like it a lot. I'd encourage you to ask before making any changes so you can make sure there will not be a bunch of hate on the changes from your regs.
