I am very interested in this as well. I still am not seeing this 'races' report that you are referring to. Are you using HEM2 or HEM1? I am still using HEM1 and not able to find this report.

Confirmed. You need to upgrade to HEM V2.

Re: ***Official HEM Red Line Discussion Thread***

i find the whole red line topic a bit of a red herring

we understand that given the variance in todays games any sub 1 million hand sample just feels too small. We understand that we can't do much about how the cards fall. The constant pre-occupation with how good or not you run just feels like negative energy. Even worse this is the kind of sht that drives you nuts - just like the old 'its rigged' question. Taking a view either way is pointless as we do not KNOW and its is highely unlikely we will. Therefore simply accepting it for what it is brings less pain

much better to spend all that self loathing/loving 'red line time' on working on parts of your game you know could be better. there is more luck involved in your bottom line today

agree 100%. But like any addict I need time to ween myself off of it. I didn't get a chance to play with HEM V2 last night but my first glance shows it has a ton of quality stuff in it (as referenced by ymu) for review. I will focus my energy on that instead. Of course, my first thing I need to do is fix how it imported as it is showing all of my winnings in reverse as losses instead. kinda weird. I also did not like how the HUD popped up by default so i disabled and used the old version last night while playing. I need to take a grind break and configure it properly. I should have done this months ago...

I'm banning myself from this red line thread for a while as I go cold turkey to end my red line obsession. Thx for the advice.

Re: ***Official HEM Red Line Discussion Thread***

and what happens if a shorstack doubles up on someone? its $ev diff positive

everytime when you gain money by some action (doesnt matter if its your action, or action of other people) and this action didnt have 100% sure outcome, you got lucky, and $EV diff shows by how much
if someone goes allin on flop vs quad aces, without straight flush outs, your $ev diff will remain 0, cose that hand after allin wasnt affected by luck

When other players are all-in, your equity in the game can go up or down depending on the the outcome. There is an expected value of that gain or loss. If the all-in player busts, you gain equity. Unless the player has a lock hand, the equity you gain will be more than the expected value (just like when *you* win an all-in). Thus the negative diff.

Downloaded HEM2 (still struggling with recent data imports but I have all my data prior to Feb 11).

any thoughts on this data? I only have a sample of 1600 or so tourneys (77K hands) since I only migrated from Carbon to Lock in mid-October when they re-opened (due to a solid RB offer) and only play 1-2 hours most nights. Seems like a big difference between my net won ($308K) and my $EV adjusted ($460K)

Re: ***Official HEM Red Line Discussion Thread***

While you may have 77k hands total, in that picture you're looking at stats over 2,660 hands. No meaning can be assigned to the difference on a sample of that size.

Also, just a note that the $(EV adjusted) stat is actually chip-EV and not $EV. However, the $EV Diff stat in the lower pane, is actually based on $EV.

Re: ***Official HEM Red Line Discussion Thread***

thx... yeah i realize it is just 2600 actual race hands of my overall sample. I follow what you mean on sample and esp related to chip -EV which could really be skewed by a handful of tourneys with huge blinds.

what about the avg all in % (.3)? Is that basically what I should be looking at? THoughts on how big a sample I'd need over time (these are almost all DoNs)?
