Rake has been lowered on Stars. The $109 turbos are now $104

Still think 2/3 is sustainable at $10 turbos, Just played 12 and I'm at 52/77 total. Thank god for the big stacks who move in every hand 6-handed. This means 28% ROI, something once thought to be unimaginable for an STT.

Thanks for this post. Maybe add up to 70%? It should be possible for now at least in the micros. And agreed with everyone else about the nonturbos being ridiculous. I wouldn't play them even if it was the same rake.

That sucks. I was happy because I was making lots of VPP per hour, now I'll have to return to cash games :'(

To me they are less boring and reward patient play, and postflop skills. I have only played three so far, but I "won" all three (playing them simultaneously along with an MTT on FT). I was 25-12 with the turbos ($10 + 1; the three non-turbos were $10 + .80). I realise of course that these are statistically insignificant numbers by which to draw any firm conclusions; but I feel good about the potential here.

Not only can you wait for playable hands and use abilities to read flop textures, etc., you can give bad players more time to trip themselves up--either paying you off for a monster or donking off all their chips to some other bigstack (here more than most tourneys, even other STTs, you don't care if the chips go to you or someone else as long as you have enough to survive and players are being eliminated).

With the turbos, even if I had built a decent stack in the early going, it came down to picking the right time to shovel and getting a feel near the bubble for when to put on the gas and when I was safe enough to put on the parking brake (and especially with the turbos, that was rarely perfectly clear as a successful shortstack steal of blinds and antes gave them mucho chips while the same blinds and antes were bleeding me dry).

I was thinking the same at first. Until i saw how much they dropped the rake. If i play 2000 of these a month at the $100 level thats $10,000.00 in rake i save. This adds $5 dollars profit a game for me.

so you're paying $5 less per game, but quitting cuz you're missing out on like $2 worth of fpps?

I'm a little pissed that they removed the $30 buyin level from the rotation. It's going to be much tougher to move up from the $20 level when you have to more than double your BR.

I have about 884 000 VPP right now, so paying 9$ per SNG I would have reached the million in just about 115 hours. And, of course, every VPP means much more for me than for someone than is just Supernova for example.

Good point, but these are not high variance and you don't need a big roll to play them. I think 75 buyins is easily enough, and 50 might be okay too. I deposited $550 to play 10s and I haven't lost more than three in a row yet. (cashed in 52/77 so far).

I have run 19/29 but that's just messing around at the 1.10s ... Of the 10, I went out with AA or KK preflop in 5, so at the uber micros, 70% may be possible ... At the 5.20s, I'd guess 65% would be exceptional ...
