^ I agree above hand is a fold

sitting on a ~5.5bb stack after blinds pass me here, is 55+, a7+, kj+ qts+ a decent pushing range here? (18m)

The chip leader was a kind of a donkey, making some limps pre flop, but after the 4handed he started to be more agressive pre flop...which range would be good to call here??

Re: ****Official Beginner/Basic Question Thread****

Hi, are the 9 Man Regular Speed still worth playing? They can still be profitable? (specially on Pokerstars).
In 2010 one player (Thrash370) made more than $70k in them, (wonder why he leave those games).
Last year the best player made no more than $25k. I like those games but I have seen better days in terms of traffic at that tables, but I am positive that things could change for better.

Re: ****Official Beginner/Basic Question Thread****

I suspect the difference between the $70k and $25k has far more to do with the volume of games being played. Now that the US players are not playing them there will be far less running and as such it would be impossible to make as much money playing them.

From my experience more generally the games arent much harder / easier than 2 years ago. The standard of players has improved obviously as it will continue to do but the number of US regs playing them dropped off which kinda balances it out.

I'd guess that if you were able to play as many games as you could in 2010 the profit would be comparable.

Hey, is it not possible to search stars anymore even with a sharkscope premium membership? I get opt in for everyone still, I thought with a paid account I could. At least it was like that 6 months ago or so

Re: ****Official Beginner/Basic Question Thread****

Just starting off playing 6max Super Turbos on Merge. A few questions:

1) Is anyone familiar with the SitnGo Startegy book (Moshman) Push/fold charts in the back and if so, are those applicable to Super turbos? If not does anyone have any suggestion on posts/books that are more applicable

2) On merge they have 80/20 payouts and 65/35 payouts, which one is recommended, or "standard" ?

No Limit Holdem Tournament
PokerStars
4 Players
$3.16+$0.34

Stacks:
CO feariarann (1,090) 3bb
BTN WeeDan121 (3,870) 10bb
SB RollemHoldem (3,315) 8bb
BB LucePenfold (5,225) 13bb

Blinds: 200/400 Ante 25

Pre-Flop: (700, 4 players) WeeDan121 is BTN 7 7
1 fold
Hero??

the guy on the BB was a 38/29, and the short one was also really agressive. My doubt here was, should I shove and try to put some pressure considering that the blinds was high or should I fold and let the blinds take the short stack chips and conserve my stack for the 3handed?
*(If the english is bad I'm sorry, it's not my mother language)
thx

Re: ****Official Beginner/Basic Question Thread****

77 hand I'd probably let it go since the shorty is about to be raped.

But a really good player told me this once: if you can't decide whether to open shove or fold, then shove; if you can't decide about calling a shove, then fold

Re: ****Official Beginner/Basic Question Thread****

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $300(BB) Replayer
SB ($6,220)
Hero ($2,585)
CO ($2,515)
BTN ($2,180)

Dealt to Hero J K

fold, fold, SB raises to $6,195 (AI), Hero calls $2,260 (AI)

FLOP ($5,220) 7 9 K

TURN ($5,220) 7 9 K 3

RIVER ($5,220) 7 9 K 3 4

Hero shows J K
(Pre 45%, Flop 80.7%, Turn 88.6%)

SB shows 9 A
(Pre 55%, Flop 19.3%, Turn 11.4%)

Hero wins $5,220

I decided to call here because sb is regular and i know he will be very wide.According to nash suprisingly this is a fold.According to wizard even if he is in 100% range this is a fold

I would like to hear any thoughts here
