Saturday night last got into a T15000 re-buy live and had a maniac at the table with lots of loose callers trying to win his chips. They did, then give them back, he re-buys, etc. He must have spent $160 on re-buys for the $25 tournament.

Blinds started at 100/200, up to 200/400, and 500/1000 for the re-buy period.

I don't recall my hands, but I played tighter than Dick's hatband, and think I may have played 2 hands all night before busting. I recall folding top two on the flop on a wet board cause the lunatic bet 5000 into it. How can I call that with 5-6 people in the pot with me?

Anyway, what do you guys do in these? TAG, LAG and just re-buy when you bust?

I played on one buy-in through the 2000/4000 level before I caught AT-spades, went all in with 27,000, got called by KQ which hit the board and I was gone.

My main question is whether to play multi-way in these types of tourneys with wider ranges. I know I don't want to get in multi-way with one pair.

Think about it like a $1 online rebuy. You get lots of gamblers who go wild early in the hopes of doubling up. So you have to accept the variance and be willing to rebuy a few times. You know these guys are gambling, so be prepared to value bet like crazy and make some looser calls.

Folding top 2 to a maniac sounds crazy on the face of it.

Heads up I'd been in there jiffy quick like, but we had at least 4 and maybe 5 going to the turn.

would you still call multiway? How about an all-in multiway on that flop?

I mean it may have made sense - hard to say without posting the hand - but you said above that you folded it on the flop when maniac bet into you - had 3 or 4 called the flop bet?
