Hey man, working with you was hands down the best thing that ever happened to me in poker. Just wanted to say hi, but for the sake of Well, I`ll ask: Have you fixed your internet yet?

Hey man; much respect (for you game. Not a big fan of full time coaches and training sites for selfish reasons )
Whats with the AIEV hate? If you take it for what it is, wont it converge on your "true" winrate a decent bit faster than greenline?

if poker came back to the US I'd probably play, but I'd still coach. I currently don't play, not even live.

oh, and if i could choose to play a game, it would probably be 9 mans. IF it came back to the US these would probably be the best games again because the potential lack of volume in games like 45s and 180s.
If I could play poker now but on the current state of Stars, it would be 45s/180s/mtts.

hey. I really enjoyed working with you. I think you are easily one of the best players I've ever had the privilege to coach. What I think your biggest attribute as a player is, is that you think for yourself.
My internet...ya, fixed it lol. My wireless was weak. Now I got the cable hooked in lol.

Hey. It's ok, everyone has their own opinion. What about coaches who are literally full time coaches and don't play at all so they can put food on the table? More respect, less respect? or lol
I wouldn't necessarily say I hate AIEV (did I use that exact word before? oops if I did). What I mean is, AIEV or even EV (red or green) don't mean anything. I'll give you an example...
Say a guy has a great green and redline (converged or will eventually converge, either way) and it's 10k. Awesome! 10k! But what if that player is also down 10k in cash games that is unrelated to the original graph? His net profit is 0. Even if you have the biggest EV graph in the world, it means nothing (besides self-validation that you are a winning player) if you never actually get the money. (that's why I used FTP as an example). There are plenty of FTP guys (I'm included in there too) who have money locked up. So it doesn't matter how much someone earned on FTP, they don't have the money.
When I coach, I use this example a lot...
If a man approached you and says the following, which would you take...
"I will give you $10 now or you can expect $20 later."
Let the debate ensue.

Good question. If I could start now, I'd probably play cash games. I love the idea of winning a hand meaning you win money immediately.

Hey Matt, This is Daniel Ludolf.(lost access to my old 2p2 account) Just want to say I really enjoyed being coached by you and I'll be back for more soon . For a question, do you ever make spite calls/-ev calls in a 9 man against regs for future game purposes?

Hey, Daniel! I really enjoyed coaching you. You were pretty good man.
In terms of making spite calls, I'd do it sometimes but not often. A lot of circumstances would have to be right.
- a player you see always
- a player who is currently in tons of your games
- the beginning of the session
- an opponent who will (hopefully) remember
in fact, one thing I didn't do that I would do now if I could...
I wouldn't just spite call. I'd call and type stuff in the chat box and let him know about it. When/if you make these calls, the feature value comes from the guy remembering it and changing the way he plays. So we should do all we can to ensure that the guy remembers it.
In games like 45s and 180s, I'd never make these calls because the likelihood that you come across the same opponent in a meaningful spot is so small compared to 9 mans.

Hai
I have no lame questions for you just wanted to say you're awesome and it was fun to grind 16s with you back in the glory days. I always wanted to have the best roi (best non-sippin roi that is ) at the 16s and always had to battle you and the few other good guys for it

Re: Glitlr's Well - A retired poker player
If you were forced to back on the following players, which would you choose?
Player A 5,000 SNGs, 0% ROI, 5% EV adjusted ROI
Player B 5,000 SNGs, 5% ROI, 0% EV adjusted ROI
Assume both played the same buyins, same timeframe etc and you are not allowed to get any more info before deciding.

What a great question.
I'd say neither.
What I want to know is the value of "I" in ROI before thinking more. However, you did pose the idea that it's same buy in same everything and I can't get more info. So with that said, I'd go with Player B because real winnings are greater than theoretical winnings.
