Re: Glitlr's Well - A retired poker player

Holy s***. I stepped away from the computer for a bit, and was excited to get back and see what SNG conversation was happening, only to find the least interesting thread in the universe.

SO HERE'S A QUESTION FOR GLITLR:

When considering calling all-in on three-way pots, what's an ideal range? I think I've been getting burned by strong heads-up hands like AK, and have just been folding due to variance, but that seems like a leak to me.

Re: Glitlr's Well - A retired poker player

Guys, I made this thread as a genuine attempt to give back to the community. I do PAY for a coaching thread, so if I thought the well was a coaching thread in itself then buying the actual coaching thread would be a waste of money.

In the mean time, I have to thank those who jumped to conclusions and gave the free advertisement to me after all. However, it didn't work. Wells aren't a good place for advertising.

But, if you still have any questions (even those who think I'm advertising), I'd be happy to answer them. That's what wells are for.

ok

1. shoves with anywhere from 8-15bb stacks in early position where wiz poorly represents risk and reward
2. all hands involving a "minimum edge" established by wiz because wiz doesn't understand your personal living conditions and what you need financially
3. calling shoves vs atc ranges
4. spots where limping is better than either push or fold
5. isolating situations
6. the abrupt change between cEV and $ev just because your 10 handed in an 18 man vs 9 handed in an 18 man

and all the hands that go in between

hope this helps

There's way too much scepticism in this thread.

Just enjoy learning from a good player.

The biggest single AHA moment ... well, there's 2.

1) sometime around early-mid 2010 when it made sense that there really is no one right way to play
2) (and the biggest) april 15, 2011. dont play long run poker because you don't know when your long run can be taken away from you. and also, +ev plays do not mean you make money. cashing out means you make money. when you have a ton of money frozen, all the +ev plays in the world can't bring it to you.

Unfortunately, there is no precise answer because every spot is different. HOWEVER, if you find any peace in this, know that folding AK in a lot of these types of hands to which you are referring is a very good play and not a leak at all.

I don't really have a favorite poker celebrity (maybe Adam Junglen) except for the fact that I despise Howard Lederer and Chris Ferguson.

I haven't watched poker since Black Friday. I don't even know anything about last year's WSOP.

I did visit the WSOP once a while back. I met Annette Orbastad. Mike Matsow said he'd take a picture with me after he "played the next hand," but then he lost and forgot. lol

I'm just completely baffled. You playing ignorant is just so tilting.

Do you truly not understand the concept that publicity and getting your brand name out there will help either directly or indirectly get coaching clients?

Do you really not understand that very basic logic?

I am quite aware of branding. However, I did make this well because I felt like answering questions because I always wanted to do one.

You just reminded me of something too. I haven't been "tilted" in almost 15 months. Man that feels good.

Re: Glitlr's Well - A retired poker player

I don't think any party involved has handled this topic well, it has clearly gotten out of control and no one is able to approach this thread without engaging. Locked.

EDIT - not locked because Glitlr was advertising per se but more because no one could focus on this thread having any enjoyable/useful purpose without derailing it.
