Full Tilt made an update today and added so called "Matrix STTs.
Seems like you sign up for a tournament, play 4 different tables with the same opponents, and get paied after the standard pay stucture, only differance is that 1/5 of the prize pool is a "Matrix Prize Pool".
This gives the players with top 3 points an extra set of prize money. You get 1 point for each player you outlast, 2 for every one you knock out and 2 for every one you win.

Ex: Buy-in $22+2

So, first thoughts on these new tournaments?
Personally I think they are quite dumb. They might be good though for players who normally play $5-10 who want to take a shot at higher stakes.

yep. they are. but also lower profit.
nice for beginners imo (more hands, lower variance, same prize).

played a 2$ one to try 'em. finished 2nd in the leaderboard, 2nd and 1st in one the sngs. won 3.96$... so 30c more than for a 3rd place in a normal 2$ sng...

i dont like them personally, id like to see full tilt come out with a double or nothing format

To expand on 'wat' - I really dont get this.

1. Can donks mulitable that well? If so, why cant they just multitable the normal sngs that they are donks at.

2. Wont this reduce their rake paid? If so, seems stupid on ftps end

3. Will this count towards the total number of tables played? Since ftp has a cap on tables, I hereby upgrade from stupid to super stupid

4. Its basically turning a $100 sng into 5 tabling $25s? Lol in that case i hope the 1 and 2ks run at least and i will gladly sit in them, if so i love the idea more than the current 1 and 2ks which can go suck a **** with their constant 2 (sets pair v pair) 3 (dominated weaker aces) and 4 (gutshot) outers imo

I don't like the matrix format and I don't think I'll play it.. maybe I'll let my brother play =)..

yea im also froze was in 2 sngs too when it happened i tried to exit out and relog back in and now its stuck at the loading window.

I'm not liking all this fiddling about with SNG structures. All it does is thin the playerbase of "normal" SNGs which is -EV for the regulars (and the site). Pacific tried to add like 7653785378^2 "novelty" SNGs with all sorts of different structures, blinds, etc and it totally backfired on them... KISS FTW.

Nothing will beat the awesome goodness of Super Turbo SnGs. If anything these matrix sngs make it harder to multitable since you can only open 4 new tables at a time.
