So i really like playing sitngos more then cash games and i haven't really played any mtts. i want to be able to make maybe 30k a year but im limited to bovada and ACR where the highest buyins are usually $20 and maybe a few $50-100 ones maybe 20 of those run per day and between the two sites maybe something around 60 sng per day would i be able to make a good amount per year from this. Also im starting from the bottom $1 buyins and i prefer regular speed rather then turbos. Also how much can i possibly make within a year from now i just want to be able to make consistent money per month maybe 3-4k a year from now.

Maybe it's possible for the best of the best at that stake. There also may be some players who make more who are unsearchable. Given the current state of online poker I'd say your energy is better spent elsewhere. Very few people can make a living playing sng's these days, especially a player like yourself who doesn't have experience above micro stakes.

As a sad but true rule when it comes to asking questions about winrates, if you have to ask, they are likely unachieavable.

Also note that this is ~all on stars. On other sites you will probably struggle to get even half that volume, not only because of the low amount of games running, but also because other software is way way way worse for multi tabling.

Thanks for the replies those are some really good points that you guys pointed out. i really enjoyed playing sitngos but i guess it wouldnt be profitable in the long run for me. i played cash for a few days was up a couple of buyins but last night ran really bad and was down 5 buyins it seems like cash is pretty hard , i really want to be successful but i just dont know which format to choose from. i just want to be able to make a salary from poker and i know tournaments have huge downswings , and cash is pretty hard to move up in stakes .

Competition should be way softer on bovada and acr, so it's not impossible at all to make $2/game from regular and turbo sng's imo. Your hourly will suck tho, because the low amount of games that run there, you have to play a lot of hours i would guess to reach your goals that is for most unrealistic to do. Maybe traffic is even worse than I imagine, making it close to impossible.
All depends on traffic...
If you really can play 60games a day with an avg buy in of $20, then yes making 3-4k a month is possible from regular/turbo sng's, but your skill level has to be top notch for sure which takes a long time to reach as well if you are only at the bottom now.
Then there is rake and rakeback, what is the rake and what is the rb %, if the rake is ridiculous high and low RB, it will make things so much harder on top of it.
Because there isn't much traffic on those sites, you should play a game where most of the traffic is, if you want to make any serieus amount.
Another option would be to mix different sng formats + mtt's ? If there are any other sng formats... like 18man or something similar, hypers, 6max, or whatever number of players it is, you should mix in any tournament format and speed if you want to have an easier time getting volume in and making your goals more achievable...

I hate being negative, but because of where you live you'd be better off investing your time elsewhere.

Americas Cardroom and Bovada currently operate in a grey market. The sites could potentially be shut down in the morning by the Department of Justice. It happened to Full Tilt in 2010 with no warning what so ever.

If you lived in a country where poker is regulated then it would be possible as you'd have access to larger player pools.

But, for now just treat poker as a hobby.

There's also a massive difference in skill between people who play $20 sit and gos and people who are just punting off at micro stakes

On bovada the SNGs above $25 don't run enough that you can put it enough volume. You could be the best player on the site and still not make much because the games don't run!

The skills you learn playing SNGs transition well to MTTs, so I would look into adding those into your grind. The MTTs run on schedule so you can put in the volume, plus the player pool is softer

easily

even from the us and a, carbon, wpn, bovada, intertops, betonline; all have been quite reputable post black friday with not one neglecting a payout or shorting someone AFAIK.

plenty of volume. i will retract with the easily statement. the volume is there to be taken advantage of but a skillset is required: Professionalism, poker skill(in this case SNG), eagerness and happiness(you have to enjoy your day, plain and simple), logging the hours (on and off the tables), ability to multitable effectively. I could go into other sub attributes but we're not gonna get to political.

Man, you have to enjoy playing the game, first of all.

And make all the math and calculations, 'cause nobody will do it for you.

+1.

The key to doing well on U.S sites is to be able to effectively play across multiple sites and formats at the same time. That's the only way to get enough volume in at a high enough average buyin, but it's definitely possible. Plenty of people are doing it.

It is indeed possible, but be ready cause it won't be easy
-Have a 100buy-in Bankroll minimum, 30BI downswing will happen !
-Be sure you have the mindset for that, grinding as a full time job and still playing at your best even on the worst run.
