Given that the flush draw completed on the turn, do I have to check this back on the river, or do I have to bet for value?

It's difficult to think of any hands villain makes it to the river that calls a value bet and you have beat. If villain had JJ, TT or 99 you probably would have heard of it pre flop, very few kings make it to the river and you are never getting called by any missed combo draws so I think checking back is actually ok in this spot

Depends entirely on opponent tendencies. As Mosai says, there aren't a lot of hands in his range that will call a value bet on the river. JJ, TT, 99 maybe but he will often 3-bet those pre-flop so may not be in his range. Worse Qx, but mathematically unlikely. If he's passive and fishy you can get calls from A-6, A-3, some weirdly played K-x. Overall though, seems like a value betting spot only vs. very passive opponents who can still call with worse. Against other opponents checking back is okay.

I always check the river there with the intention of calling a reasonably sized bet.

Agreed, if you consider his entire range here there could be missed straight draws like 45 that he could try to turn into a bluff.

If you bet he just folds all the nothing hands, and if he c/r you valuetowned yourself vs better hands.

Its pretty transparent, but you can bet fold a tiny 1/5 pot river bet. The droolers lap it up!

Im with Colin, against an unknown, presumably bad player Id bet/fold small too.

But if you are unsure there is enough value to be had, you can check back.

Bet/calling looks like the worst option.

Tricky spot I still think your hand is too strong to check back. Villain could have been stationing with 2nd or 3rd pair. Obviously you can discard that part of his range when he raises on the river. If cant check back or bet call that leaves bet fold which I think is the best line.

Sizing on the river is terrible unless you think he has Qx, most often you're going to push out the hands you beat and get called/shoved on by the hands that beat you

I don't see his Qx worse than yours, or any for that matter going x/c, x/c, x.
He has little or no Kx, aside from Ksxs.
What do you hope to get called with using this size?
What hands make an obvious bluff for him here?
Do you think he raises worse for value?
    If so what?
