7$ 6max session, villain is a fish 47/14, agg%44. Is an option just checking pre and try not to build a pot in first levels with AK?
another question.....OTR I felt like I was holding the best hand until he shoved. I was tanking a lot and still thinking about it now, the only hand he could have was a flush. I don't think he would play out Qx so passive. I also believe he would be bluffing minority of the time since he is fishy and never bluffed before....how would you play?
I like the fold. I know nothing about hand reading (= cannot back up my statement with facts) but I don't see why you are so confident as to say the only hand he can have is a flush. He can definitely have Qx in my opinion. He limped pre with Q6/Q7/Q8/Q9/QT/QJ/whatever (he does like 47% of the deck ...), hit the jackpot on the flop and didn't want to chase you away so he decided to trap.
I'd say bad players like this often trap with a very good hand. Perhaps he checked behind on the flop to not chase you away, just called the turn for the same reason then decided it's time to go for it on the river. If he has Qx he doesn't care about the third diamond coming on the river, that's for sure.
All of these things aside, his stats alone are enough to make me fold. A passive player just screamed I have it!!! at you on the river and you're still left with 48bb.
I think he doesn't have bluffs in this spot. The only hand I see you beating is a lower suited ace but he would call turn and call river with that, not shove.
(Also, it's my opinion that weak players play even weaker the higher you go in stakes. This a subjective assumption and I've never played higher than $2 so I've never had the chance to observe them, but I'd say if a very passive player like this is unlikely to be aggressive on any street without a strong hand then the combination of his general passiveness + his river aggression + the fact that he is playing for $7 make up for a monster here. I know 66 is also very unlikely as he would probably raise that preflop, but if he does have 66, I can't see him playing this hand any other way. There is no way he bets the flop, there is no way he raises the turn and there is no way he doesn't put you all in on the river. Same goes for Q6 of course.)
Given the action/stats the weakest hand he is raising the river here is trips. He could also have a flush or a boat with those stats.
Like raise pre, you want to isolate and get fish heads up. I think you played this very well and made a very disciplined fold. You are only beating bluffs and be very surprised if he's bluffing here. He can have all Qx combos... fish like this looove to slow play their big hands.
Personally I often check turns like this and bluff catch all rivers. Keeps the pot about the right size for 1 pair, and you're not getting value from much worse on the turn even if he is a fish.

This is good advice. Keeping the pot small and bluff catching the river works great (it's funny how they always assume you have nothing if neither of you have shown any real strength and then bet like 1/3 pot on the river thinking you are snapfolding ... middle pair is good! ).
