Wasn't there some high school girl on the PCH that you were chasing?

Ah yes. I finally saw them again a while later. They didn't look very good w/o makeup and had both put on about 10 lbs or so.

I guarantee if anybody saw those girls walking down the street it would never occur to you in a million years they were in HS. They looked like they were on their way to a car show or something.

2007 Suzzer sounds like GOAT TJ wingman.

Btw have you ever been to Los Mochis? I kind of liked that. Very different climate, and seemed pretty laid back. Still probably too big for what she's looking for though. And driving would be out.
Not Gramps but ill butt in anyways.

Ensenada has like 300k+ population. Decently quaint for socal but decently large for down here and gets enough tourists that itll prob have more a American tourist destination feel than a sleepy beach town. It is a pretty sweet place and being close enough to pop in for restaurants and other entertainment while youre down would be nice. Id recommend finding one of the towns 20-30km north of ensenada. Youll be a 30 min max drive from prime wine country in Guadalupe Valley, be close enough to Ensenada to go there if you want a fancy night and have where you actually stay have that quaint coast feel to it. Only driven near going to Ensenada but have heard good things about la mission. If you want to give up staying on the beach for better proximity to the vineyards then San Marcos might work.

Id get in touch with Miguel at http://www.rentinginmexico.com/ . Have used him off and on as my realtor down here the past four years, as have many other grinder. Even if youre just asking questions about where in baja would best fit your needs hell give you straight answers, even if it's somewhere he doesnt have properties. He's super trustworthy too. Havent been south of Ens myself so maybe something a little more down that way that would be perfect, but im not sure if wine country extends that far.

Down to grab a drink or two if youre gonna be in town. Prob no mezcal though. Last time me and Gramps took shots things went a bit sideways.

Anyone in Vegas this weekend? I'll be here til Sunday if anyone wants to meet up for foods. I'm basically just grinding and eating

Given your read i think you should approach him outside the table or during a new deck or something and mention to him that you havent been calling the clock on him that often and mention you think he's pulling the trigger a tad quick on you. Assuming your goal is to have him not do it as often; rarely play live and dont think ive tanked over a spot more than 30 seconds in my life (outside stalling so gramps gets the blind change on his bb) so Id err on the side of spite personally.

Kinda of a beta move but he sounds pretty irrational and reclocking him will prob just excacerbate the situation. Ignoring him and waiting til he finds an new villain to vent his anger upon might work too.

I've only played with him twice since him quick clocking me. Last night was the second time and while I never spoke to him or played a hand with him, he did call the clock twice in the 2 hours I was there. One of them was fairly quick in a big spot and the other seemed standard.

He definitely is not someone we would want at the table FWIW. While he does generally behave like a child, he plays really nitty, rarely bluffs, limp/reraises too large pre flop with big pairs etc. When things don't go his way he'll berate dealers.

That is a damn shame.

Despite the general downward trends in poker (and SNGs in particular), it still warms my heart to see so many familiar old names posting in this thread.

If it makes you feel any better, there is no money in stand up either, but I do get to do really cool things with fun people.

FWIW, I disagree with this very strongly. There are certainly challenges, but I think that the future has a lot of potential for the game to grow.

Get it freaking legal in CA. Stop blowing cocaine dust around and put the beard to work.

Potential is one thing, actual direction and reality is another. Amaya trying to jack the rake up is an example of this direction. Lower wsop numbers is an example of this direction.

For a second there I was worried you were going to disagree with the part about old people posting.

a) The rake changes were reversed (except for Spin n Go)

b) Signing two of the biggest sporting superstars in the world shows a strategy to grow the game

I'm with Josem on this. I'm not irrationally hopeful for a big boom to 'bring things back to where they were' - but I definitely think there is potential to get the graph on an uptick.
But it's possible I'm just blinded by Josem's beard and willing to agree with anything he says.

Poker seems to be steadily growing. I don't think it is going to improve for professional's playing online.

The Big Boom will happen when Noodleman starts multi-staging stand up comedy, Skipper starts posting strat and Suzzer dates an actual pron star.

Stay fit my friends.

I share some of your concerns but instead of always trying to light the fire you should use that big brain of yours and help to shape the direction. You'd be a good political mind - go lobby for the game imo

Well there's just one thing, see. I didn't start the fire. It had been burning a long time before I got here, probably since the world started turning. I didn't start it, nor did I light it. But, I tried (and still do) to fight it.

I'm not saying women and children are allowed half birthdays, but men sure as hell aren't. Not really birthdays either from like 30-90. 90 deserves a party.
