Haven't been to a NYE party in many years (maybe 20); went to one w/Irieguy, de Captain, and several other poker players lastnight. got home to find that garage door (2 car garage) would not respond to command from opener. After much dicking around trying to get door open, I discovered that problem is a broken spring. Fix is outside of my skill set and nobody available today. $300 repair will have to wait till 1/2/15. Meanwhile ine car stuck inside / one outside. Why Me?

Skip,

Electric g-doors have a release so the door can be operated manually. It's usually on a rope hanging from the opener.

If a door spring is broken, it may be a little hard to open. I guess I could see a roll up door getting jammed by a broken spring.

I don't post as much anymore, it's been a very interesting year with lots of ups and downs, but I always keep up with reading this thread at least. Will be joining the fatherhood club in a month, can't wait for what 2015 brings. Happy new year STTFrs!!
