That looks like a graph of every live 20 session I play recently.

In the last 6 months to a year all the gas pumps in my area have a new security feature. You have to enter your zip code when you you use a debit card. But you don't need the pin. If I stole your card which would be easier to guess? The 4-6 digit random pin or the 5 digit zip code where I know they ****ing live!

You're using your debit card as a credit card in that case. Don't you feel better not to give the gas n sip your actual pin?

This is not a good idea because debit cards do not have the same fraud protection as credit cards.

You're recommending using and actual credit card, rather than preferring to use debit + pin here? I'm on the cash back thing, so I never use DC any more.

I love the Cannon T3 he helped me choose. It was far less than 1k, so maybe you're looking higher end.

It depends on the debit card. For example:

Debit cards have the same security protections like as credit cards. Just like credit card cards, debit cards have Zero Liability* fraud protection and dispute resolution options.
Debit cards are good for people who are not as careful about the amount of money they spend.

I'm definitely not a fan of using my pin anywhere but at the bank.

I've never been a debit card person, either. However, I think the world at large would be better if it were more of a cash society instead of a plastic society because fewer people would have stupid debt.

leo doc says this way better, but borrowing on depreciating assets should be avoided whenever possible. That said, it is hard to picture a new college grad who was forced to borrow for education and is just starting out. Being the slightest bit susceptible to advertising (and who isn't), he's going to be pushed to a slightly better car, apartment, furniture, etc. Small differences in the purchase price plus interest over time makes a huge hole. If he already owes $100k for the education, is the difference between a $15k car and a $30k car large? These are hard things, especially when "it is only a few dollars a month more in your payment".

My grandparents were people of the Great Depression. They lived in a cash society, as they didn't do credit or trust banks much. That seems generations apart from today. They also plowed fields with horses.

The math guy in me cringes when people look at just the monthly payment and not the overall cost. You're out a 5-year loan for a car instead of a 3-year loan so you can get a more expensive car and still save a few bucks a month? (Or worse -- You're leasing so you can get a different car 3 years from now?)

Yeah. Like 3 generations.

I get Cashback on my cc and always pay in full each month.

My point was that if someone steals your debit you do not have the same level of fraud protection than if they steal your cc so I always recommend the cc over the debit if you have the discipline to pay in full each month.

Sitting at a bar in the former Confederate capitol with a bunch of old white guys who are cheering on a largely homosexual group of women playing soccer.

There is hope for the south.

That's a good point. I never noticed it going through as credit instead of debit.

I'm with Aaron. I hate to give anyone other than my bank my Pin. It gives me the wiggins.

I use my debit card so infrequently that I can never remember my pin. I don't even carry it.

Credit cards w cash back or straight up cash FTW.

I'm a Canon guy so the Canon T6i is one of the better entry level Canon DSLR's.

I know Morgan, Leroux, Holliday are married to men and Johnston is dating a baseball player.

Not that it matters but just a little sensitive to "female athlete equals Lesbian".

Not offended either Ottsville; I get the point and joke you were trying to make.
