It's only been 8 months. We're probably a good 2.5 years away from another NC Thread.

Not with all this non-stop LC posting.

Aaron W., we're having some struggles with our 4th grader and long division. Tried the Kahn academy version, and it was not really that inspiring. You have any suggestions for a video or method to help our kid who is resisting the rote-learned algorithms? She's really good at multiplication, so the fundamentals are there.

Hi Doug!

Here are 7 minutes and 41 seconds of absolutely riveting mathematical explanations.

And if that isn't enough, here's another 4 minutes and 3 seconds, but with remainders!

That looks like fun Breich - I'm going to try to go.

Hey DougL - sorry I never noticed these threads before - I'm actually a world-renowned math tutor. In my own mind at least.

Online microstakes 6-max table full of unknowns.

UTG, HJ and CO limp, SB completes.

You're in the BB with Q9s and you check your option.

Flop comes 952tt. SB checks, you bet, 3 callers.

Turn is another 5. SB checks, you bet, only UTG and SB call.

River is a 6. SB checks, you bet, UTG calls, SB folds.

Your reaction when UTG flips over AA is....

....what?

Bad 52/17 reg opens CO, I three bet 99 OTB, losing nit calls SB, fish calls BB

Flop JT9r they check I bet they call

Turn 2 they check I bet they call

River 3 they check I bet CO calls. I don't win, JJ goot.

I got to play some live LHE at the Palm Beach Kennel Club while visiting family. The highest they spread was 2/4, but it was a soft limp fest and I was able to pick up 25 BB's. Good I miss games like that.

Lots of fun if you ever get to Fla.

The HIGHEST LHE they spread was 2/4???? What did they spread that was lower, and what did they use for chips - quarters???

1/2. Most of the room was N/L.

They actually spread 1/2 fixed limit? Wow.

There's definitely some redeeming things about playing live. For one, you usually have some game on, which is probably what I'd be watching at home anyway. Decent social atmosphere as I've made a few good friends in my time playing. Also, the CPK at Foxwoods has the best chain food I can think of (great Halibut dish IMO), that I can pay for with good comps from playing.

I would recommend the second lowest game in the room if you want to have a decent amount of fun while playing. IME, the lowest game is usually full of grumpy people who likely can't afford the game. The next step up, people usually have a bit more play money and it's more relaxing.

panera > cpk imo

They're my #1 and #2 choices at Foxwoods, so I'm not going to argue too heavily for either .

I mean for all the junk casino food you can get, reasonably healthy options always work for me.

Still seeing some strava posting from the weight loss folks. Here is a pic from the ride from yesterday. Lots of layers. One of my riding buddies is one of the founders for the Icy Bike Challenge FB group.

Have people been hanging on to their weigh losses? Two years in, still good here. Within a couple pounds +/-.
