1. I started in poker in 2004 after seeing a pokerstars add on tv whilst in ft lauderdale for an overseas work assignment. I played play money freerolls for a while and when i got home i tried my visa card to see if it would work. Stars took my $50. I donked around for a while in 1c/2c and 08 and got down to about $30. I emailed stars support and asked if there was any east way to withdraw cos i didnt want to use the methods they offered (I didnt have neteller then) and they send me a 2+2 link for a relavent thread. Thankyou stars. The rest as the say...is history.
2. Biggest A-Ha moment? Hard to say. There have been a few. learning to bet/fold was one. Simply getting a starting hand chart was another. there are more Im sure.
edit: actually session reviews were pretty great for my game too. In addition i teamed up with ghosts of the past (Str8fish aka DrMatt, HouseCalls, Nomadtla and Thrakkar) whereby basically we helped each other out with hand reviews and general discussion. Naturally the group outgrew itself but it was a great learning experience for all.
3. Im playing NL50 6max these days. I say play whatever you want. Poker can be a grind, if you want to play some limit then give it a go but start low and get used to the fact that in all but the juciest games all you can do is push small edges cos you cant go pot pot pot and stack a donk like in NL. Me, I tend to go and play nanostakes SNGs when im sick of cash games or if im not in a good mindset cos my edge there is large and if i lose then im not gunna lose much at all.
4. To call international rules the bastard son of Aussie rules would be an insult to bastard sons. they change the rules more than formula 1 to stop the aussies winning.
