Why didn't you guys eat there at Bay 101? The restaurant is better and cheaper than your average random place.

Eating at the table seems rather gauche (even though the pho and the prime rib looked decently appetizing). Plus, we wanted to socialize. Like, I was the only one who actually ate any non-trivial amount of food. One of the best parts of the evening was just sitting down and chatting with Tyler and Zeke without the pervasive clink of chips killing the mood. Who would want to mock Ohio with that in the air?

That said, I'm open to specific recommendations for Bay 101 food that's cheap and social. Also, I'll take recommendations for food there that's just cheap, on the off chance I decide to head there alone because the 6/12 game is amazing. It's not very often that you get to witness table conditions like those described in SSHE as "loose."

Feel free to join me in the 3/6, where it is even more insane. The insanity can cut both ways though. To wit:

I open AJdd in EP, get 1 caller then get 3-bet by a very bad player. 3, yes, 3 players, take 3 bets to the face. I cap, everyone calls, flop is TQK rainbow. Someone donks, I raise, 1 cold caller, very bad player 3! and I cap. Turn blank completing rainbow, another donk, I raise, 3 callers. River Q, I call to see the QT, because hey why not.

Later on: I limp red 77 and everyone at the table limps, button raises, we see a flop 100 ways, it comes K73r. Bets go in, turn 6 more betting, river 6 I'm heads up with the very bad player from the hand above. I bet, he raises, I 3! He 4! I 5! He 6! I 7! At which point he actually says "I think we're betting the same hand." Guy to my right, who knows me somewhat, laughs and says "I doubt that," guy just calls my 7! and tables 63o.

I miss YouTube in China, it's kind of sad. In other news: Xi'an is kind of a ****hole, and fairly unsafe if you don't pay attention to what's going on around you. Beijing on the other hand is pretty nice and i really like it a lot, actually. The food is good, and bad, it's like roulette, which is fitting as a lot of the meals i have eaten have been on the traditional spinny top tables...

Going to Shanghai in a few days and will be there for around 4 weeks more taking classes, though I am considering skipping some of those to take a train down to Hong Kong, or to the 3 Gorges Damn.
