if you are a casual player, sure there will probably always be a place you can play...
but as a pro it is dead imo:
1. to make it as a rb grinder you need to be playing at LEAST 16 tables, and you need to have access to those tables for at least 12 hours of each day.
2. to make it as a bumhunter you need to be able to access high limit tables and move up limits. now that bigger limits have died off the medium limits get those players and everything gets harder to the point where it becomes virtually impossible to make enough $$ to cover the rake and move up, because the mistakes of the other players combined arent big enough.
and it will get worse every day from here on in.
just my 2 cents as a guy that grinded a ****load in frlhe at the start of this year and at the start of last year.

Re: The Official 2011 High Volume Limit Players SN/SNE Thread
I can kind of see the dynamics behind it if you expect CO to be 3-betting Aces a lot (and then 5-betting after your raise to force others out), and there's a lot of dead money in the pot already. It seems a bit optimistic perhaps, but Idk for sure. You usually have to outdraw Aces (and your hand sucks to do so) and you really need everyone else to fold.

Re: The Official 2011 High Volume Limit Players SN/SNE Thread
shu, i actually dont mind shortstacks as most of them are terrible and i like fish. ive even done it myself. fwiw i can only recall one shortstacker that was decent in the games ive played but even he was entirely predictable and not hard to play against, and my prev comment using the P word was made when tilted and possibly with a few bevvies in me. u are right tho, im not sure either way if SS PLO is a good idea or not, it probably is but giving me one name really doesnt prove anything either way. meh, its all good. as for eski's hand above, as much as i likes the monk and respect his play a great deal, 4betting arr in with 7332 and 58BB is just wrong or at least seems wrong. it would make me feel dirty
edit: oh, not 58BB, my bad. still, i dont like it.

with 58 BB it would be terrible. ridiculously insanely bad.
with 27BB if i assume CO is going to 5bet almost always, and MP and the others are going to fold at least 85%+ of the time i think its good. upon reflection now its definitely not the super fistpump i thought it was, but i did put my money in in a +ev spot if we are getting super results oriented.
btw lol @ what this thread has become post black friday =/
Re: The Official 2011 High Volume Limit Players SN/SNE Thread
I checked with the best shortstacker (and full-stack) player I know well enough to ask and he called your play atrocious. I'm not sure if reads can make atrocious -> good, but I kind of doubt it.
