Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV

Had some mileage to cover in final two weeks, but made it.

Start weight was 210ish.
Target weight was 185.

The only thing that sucked is that we were away last weekend and ate at some decent restaurants. Didn't get to enjoy those quite as much as I would have liked to.

Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV

Spreadsheet updated.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...FE&pli=1#gid=0

Total winners pool: $97
I owe 11 and GG owes 86.

I need some help figuring out how the winnings get split between Corey and Beeker since they wagered different amounts for different %'s....my head hurts trying to figure this out.

We also need to figure out how to ship the monies. I can send personal checks or RPM...paypal is a third option. We could also look for a go between who may be able to act as an intermediary to move money from one site to another for us.

I can PayPal to winners... I'm not at home or could look at numbers, clearly I should have saved previous contests tabulations so I knew how to figure it out

Using a stick, some dirt and an abacus my random guess is

It's a $71.48 to $25.51 winners pool split ... But please don't take my word for it or ask me how I may have figured it out

Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV

We organize fund raising for unfortunate families on our local poker forum. So whatever I get from this challenge, I will donate to this charity pool. I'm not here for the moneys obv

I mean... Holy ****... I lost more than 12kg already (at 66,7kg atm).
I'm in the best shape of my life

Let's do some rounding:

71 and 26 to keep it clean. for some reason I can't open the spreadsheet from work. who get's the $71 and who gets the 26?

Can either of the two winners take a personal check? I'm pretty sure the fees for sending PayPal international are more than the $11 I owe

First off I was serious when I said I eyeballed the numbers with some paper and a pen and a hope and a prayer, I definitely would double check them...

Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV

I have the following logic because I am having a hard time reconciling the different %'s risked:

Corey risked 3X Beeker so if the %'s were equal the payout would be:
24.25 for Beeker and 72.75 for Corey. BUT

Beeker took on a slightly higher challenge at 12.2% against 11.4% for Corey. That is the part I am struggling with calculating, but your #'s seems to bring us closer in line when taking this into account so unless there are objections I am proposing:

$71 to Corey and $26 to Beeker.

You need to ship to both of them since mine is only $11. If we are going to do this via PayPal, there are fees on international transactions so I propose that I ship you my money and split the cost of any paypal fees with you for both transactions rather than incur fees on three international transfers.

However, if the winners will accept a personal check then there are no fees and I will simply mail my $11 to either Corey or Beeker.

Thoughts guys?

Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV

Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay in chiming in on this - work has been heavy.

Like CoreySteel, I'm not actually all that fussed about the money. I'm in Canada which would complicate things. As far as I'm concerned, three reasonable options are

1) Add my winnings to CoreySteel's to put toward his cause.
2) Make a donation to a charity of your choice.
3) Spend the money (little as it is) on someone in your life that's important to you (even yourself!).

Don't let me come across as being unappreciative. The challenge has helped me focus enough to lose quite a bit of weight - with many positive comments from my significant other. Everyone involved lost at least some weight - which is great, even if it's only a start.

Feel free to make decisions as you see fit. I'm more than happy with the outcome I've already achieved.

best wishes

beeker
