Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV
For reference, here are the threads to the other challenges where you can find all the information you need on the rules.
Part 1: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...4&postcount=11
Part 2: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/35...rt-2-a-950042/
Part 3: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/35...t-3-a-1091543/
I may have set a world record for weight gain over the holidays and it has not stoped in the month after the holidays so it is time for me to drop weight and get sexy again.
A couple of things we need to cover.
1) I will gladly act asthe guy who tracks everything, but I am going to need some help if we get multiple winners with different %'s risked...I still haven't figured out how to do that math. (I'll PM GG after I post this to see if he can do the math again..I know he said he wants in this round.
2) I will set the registration deadline as the end of February, this way those of you who want to get started now can do so, and it allows ample time for people to register. Remember, you are playing against your own bet so WHEN you start and end is irrelevant to everyone else....we just don't want people having to wait more than a month for other people to finish.
3) We did this without an escrow last time and sadly we had one person dissapear and not pay up. I have no idea what the circumstances were around his dissapearance so I will not judge him, but the experience shows me that we need to have an escrow. I will volunteer to be the escrow, or if you prefer someone else I am fine with that. If I am the escrow I will simply ask each member to either mail me a check or send me a bank transfer on Wells Fargo or Bank of America. I can also accept money on RPM, but prefer not to hold anyones money in a poker account post BF...if you want to send me poker money I will say up-front that if the site is shut down and we lose access to the money then I am not liable to you for those funds (unless of course I can recover them at some later date). Sorry, but that is the state of poker for US residents these days. We can get started and have people post their weigh-ins before we resolve the escrow, but we need to settle on that quickly and confirm delivery of funds before you will be considered truly in the bet.
4) Now that the legalize is stated and out of the way, remember that this is a fun way to drop some weight and is not really about the money. The money helps to motivate, but the bottom line is to have fun with it and try to get healthier than you are today. Bet as little or as much as you would like, but I am going to cap the maximum bet at $300 (which is the highest we have ever had). Most bet $100 for 10% but you can bet any amount for any % (this is the part I hate...the math would be easy if everyone was betting the same, but meh we'll figure it out)
I will be participating, but will probably wait until after the SuperBowl to begin.

Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV
Thanks for organising this again, antneye! I really appreciate it.
I don't mind if we do not have an escrow, but if we do, I'd need some other form of payment. Can do PokerStars, Neteller, MB, PayPal.
I'll be probably in for $100 and 10%. But not sure about % yet. Need to weigh in first

I should have mentioned PayPal. If I am the escrow I can take PayPal.

Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV
As I mentioned in the other thread, I've got a personal goal to get to 180 by the first part of June and am tentatively rewarding myself if I make it with playing the wsop plo8 event ($1500). Even with that motivation, there are still a few details to work out and its still probably a longshot.
I'm not super interested in participating in this again as I have failboated the 3 previous times. That said, part of the contingency would be the need to sell about half the entry fee and I might be convinced if winners were interested in using say, half of whatever they win to buy shares. I'm not sure I've completely thought through how/if this would work, but figured I'd throw it out there for discussion or whatevs.
I'll probably hold off for now and get a few other things figured out first.

If you start on 29th of February, you'll have to get to 180 by 29th of May, which is essentially the same as "first part of June"
Bet 300$ and buy-in with money you win here.

Start whenever you want. Post your pic and away you go. I assume I am going to be the escrow.....or maybe we can do one escrow for US residents and another for those who are out of the US and can play on stars or something.
We can hold off on shipping money for now until more people chime in on how we want to handle the money.

Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV
Ok, here I go...
I was SHOCKED when I saw how much weight I gained. I mean, its not really a surprise, but I was still hopping it wouldn't be as high as it is
This is a 5 year peak for me.
Start: 78.9kg
Goal: 69.9kg
Bet: 150$
%: 11.4%
My goal is simple: lose 0.1kg a day
Sorry for the odd number of %, antneye :P
I have also made "before" picture, but will only post if "after" picture is satisfactory
My plan:
- drink water
- eat 5 times a day
- be active every day (bodyrock, football, running)
- less/no alcohol
- less/no chocolate
- less/no junk food

Goal: 154 lbs
%: 11.4
End Date: 4/29/12

Re: Micro's Weight Loss Challenge Part IV
I'm still interested, but have been afflicted by a nasty virus that's purged a lot of fluid from my body! Will re-engage once I'm hydrated back to something like normal weight (for me).

I'm still gonna do this too, but I'm waiting for my physical therapist to clear me (or more specifically my shoulder) to be able to do some swimming....
