Donk it up a.k.a microstakes challenge

Inspired by bozlax's original post I have resurrected the donk it up challenge.

Rules:

1-Start with 15 BB and donk it up to 15BB of the next level's stakes

i.e. $0.02/$0.04 =$0.60 move up when you hit $1.50

2 - Millionnaire's row?! wha?

Donking it up is what I live for.

Is there a time-frame in which this challenge takes place?

Re: Donk it up a.k.a microstakes challenge

The original OIC (Open Internet Challenge) specified 3 hours. I have, in the past, run a 15bb Challenge for upwards of 5 days (I started at .02/.04 and stalled at 10/20).

fwiw, part of the point is to learn to play without fear. If you're playing too passively, you're not even going to make it one level in 3 hours unless you're running white-hot.

Sounds like fun, I just put up a prop bet with my friend on who could reach .50/1 first.

This is true, the advantage usually goes to the aggressor.

edit: we agreed to diff stakes

A few of us did pretty good on some of these... I ran from .25/.50 to 5/10 in about 6 hours before shutting down. I think Benny had the best success IIRC????

I did not. I just inspired a run of them in Micros.

Re: Donk it up a.k.a microstakes challenge

The time is 9:36 West Coast USA time. I'm starting a 15x2 BB challenge on Stars starting from .02/.04.

60 cents at Hippasos and 60 cents at Acrab V

30 minute update: I run bad. 18 cents at one table, 52 cents at another.

With one table busto, I think the odds of making it past 4 cent big bets is very small.

6-max is more fun.

10:30 PM -- One table alive, moving up with $1.50 to the $.05/.10 game.

Re: Donk it up a.k.a microstakes challenge

11:00 PM -- $1.53. I got as high as $2.00, but have spent most of this time just sitting and waiting for something decent to happen.

Edit: Woo hoo! 99 holds up on a 3-flush flop and I'm up to $2.09.

Re: Donk it up a.k.a microstakes challenge

11:30 PM -- Bored out of my mind, and I've got $1.99. Good Eats just ended, I just lost a pot to 95o two pair limped UTG. If I'm not up to $.10/.20 by midnight, I'm just going to quit and continue tomorrow.

Edit: I just won a pot with KJo that turned a straight and got called down by bottom pair. Then I lost a small pot (river bet-fold), and then I just won a small pot. $2.40.
