If the runner was returning to 1B to avoid getting out then it is your fault. watch where you place your feet
your B.A. for the game?
when someone is trying to channel their inner willie mays hayes by sliding into first in a kickball game, it doesn't matter if it's within the rules, it's still dumb.

Looks standard to me. His stack is too small to make a normal turn bet.

Kickball? Y'all were adults, right?

Meh, kinda. But standard.
In softball (with grownups) the standard is sliding into second with cleats high. Going into first they want to run past the bag so they usually try to take out a knee or ankle if you're still on the bag. I've seen quite a few almost-fights.

I haven't played for 10 to 15 yrs. but when any of the above D'bagginess ever happened an azz whippinin was the 2nd course. Way to many ex-jocks with bad wheels or guise that needed to walk in order to make a living to allow cheap shots. It happened very rarely, but when it did, it was always somebody who had never played ball beyond little league.

Maybe I played in an unusual softball league. Our town was next to a military base, and there were a few teams filled with Special Forces-lookin' mf'ers, all full of attitude. Nobody smaller than 6'2" 225. Our team had a few big guys too, put both teams on the same field and you get fireworks.

You think check-and-raise is a d-bag move as well old man?

Softball seems to have a high degree of D'bagginess in general IMO I saw more fights and almost fights in 3 years of bar league softball then in 15 years of competitive rugby.

Even though I've been experimenting at NL, I'm thinking PLO/8 is way more fun. That said, LHE is a great game. I'm still hopeful that legalization will make it viable -- it will be a shame that such a wonderful game dies off.

Well LHE can never truly die off as long as I still have a bankroll to donate to the few folks who can beat the Merge 6 Max game (couldn't resist )
I like LO8, maybe one day I will give PLO8 a shot, I would just need to really study the game before sitting down to play anything higher than penny games because I think I'd be prone to making huge mistakes in big pots where I am only actually fighting for a quarter of the pot or something like that.
Re: Any Higher and I'd Be As Baked As Tyler (NC Thread)
Well, our own BigBadBabar is getting coached up in PLO/8 in his new series on DC.
I'd guess if you're not going for 3/4+ of the pot, you're doing it way wrong. Going off for stacks looking for 1/2 or less of the pot is a disaster. Also, the pot limit aspect means that controlling pot size is likely a big part of the game. i.e. sweetening the pot with a hand that isn't going to want to commit on many flops is way worse than just limping along and forcing your opponents to bet small. Also, think about betting sequences to stack off with whether or not like 2/3 pot x3 gets you in or if you still have a PSB to threaten after calling x2 or c/r.
