Nh, very standard calldown against an unknown imo. It's a good hand to get a read on villain's donking range.

A semi-bluff raise on the turn with your combo draw might be okay, i'm not sure (your 5-high flush draw is pretty low for that). I'll let a better player give you an answer.

Hey TINT, welcome to the micros forum. Great first post!

What range do you put the CO limper on when he donks the A high flop that has a draw. What's our equity vs. that range?

if he has a few combos of face cards hes blasting off with this makes it an easy call.

Thanks for the reponse Garwin. - yep, part of the reason i called him down was get n idea of what he was donking with. I considered a turn raise but decided against it due to being unsure where I was at in the hand.

Thanks for the response and the welcome Doug. With regard to a range for the CO once he has donked on this flop.....Im struggling. In general I dont think we see donks with a flush draw, sets or any Ace. This is the crux of the issue - I simply dont know what to make of the donk bets.

Going with my initial thoughts of no fd, sets or aces for the donking range, Id say he is leading non spade K2s-K5s, 56s, 67s, and maybe 22, 66. and maybe some random junk attempting to rep an ace? - im unsure about this.

Before we get into equities - am i thinking along the right lines range wise or am I way off in discounting sets, aces and fd's in the donking range?

I haven't played in these games forever. We block some draws. The best draw came in. We beat 44 and facecards that are donk bluffing A high boards. I don't recall that being a thing in these limits. If they are, you call.

My feeling is fold turn and get a note later.

That seemed extremely conservative to me at first, but after thinking further about this I have to say it's a lot closer than what I initially thought.

If I use the book "Hold'em on the Come" as a reference, I estimate we have 6 clean outs total on the turn, not enough to call.

    - 5 clean straight outs " subtract one out if only one of the cards in your hand is being used"
    - 0 flush outs "when the board contains 3 suited cards, and you hold a fourth card of that suit ... worse than the third nut draw is rarely worth considering"
    - 1 out because "if it's possible at all you might have the best hand, give yourself an extra out"

So thanks for your input Doug, my eagerness to get a read on people may be one of my many leaks.

donking is a powerful weapon actually. If the guy check-raises he has ace or flushdraw. But if he donks... WTH is going on? I often find myself in such situation. Calling down to see stupid ace because it's absurd.
