Re: You Talk to Fatties (extracted from Scams thread)
Fun thread. Crazy how delusional we can be and the amount of effort we put into feeding(lol) these delusions instead of going about fixing them. I am not fat, but I do need to stop my own delusions about drinking too much, eating too much and not exercising. Need to stop putting this stuff off and making SILLY single serving excuses. GL everybody

Because food is just sooo good it controls us all. It is the same for the guy trying to lose 150 as me trying to lose 15. It is just hard. But not impossible.
Maybe the trick is being honest with yourself about what you want. I know I would be happier with abs than with the food I currently eat. The idea that food is a reward or something I use to make me happy seems wrong anyway.
I'm getting abs. For X-mas or maybe Halloween even!

Re: You Talk to Fatties (extracted from Scams thread)
I bought a scale today. I had guestimated my weight for MFP as 195. I was at least 10 pounds off, weighing in at 205.6 today, nearly two weeks after starting to log my calories.
I guess I will at least lose more per week in the interim.

Stay away from this thread, don't ever comment in it again if you have this attitude. This is the kind of attitude that causes people to give up. It doesnt' seem like much in the scheme of things, but what matters more than *anything else* is motivation.
He doesn't have a Biggest Loser coach around him pushing him all the time, he has an anonymous Internet forum and his own goals. If 10 pounds of "water weight" helps keep him motivated who the hell are you to diminish that achievement? **** you.

When there's a good chance that a decent amount of it is water weight, it's certainly not a *huge* gain, but there's no way he should be anything but thrilled with that start.

So what would be huge, 20 pounds in 12 days? At what point do you consider a 260 pound person eating 1700 cals a day, a guy that's just losing a ****ton of weight?

It depends on the situation. 10 lbs could be anywhere from enormous to nothing but water weight. He's doing a great job, that's all that matters.

I was replying in context to what the poster before was talking about (saying 10 pounds in 2 weeks was nothing for someone 250 lbs who should be losing more weight than what he has lost).
I don't think 10lbs is slow, though. Just pointing out that generally slower weight loss is better.
