8000 calories is super easy. There are plenty of 5000 calorie meals eating out. Add in a bunch of beer or other easy liquid calories, and normal other meals, and it's super easy.
I'm curious what this meal would be in calories. It has to be at least 4000 calories.
Outback
1/2 bloomin onion (950 calories)
2 loaves bread w/ butter (400 calories?)
potato soup (350 calories)
loaded baked potato (350 calories)
20 oz porterhouse - 1000 calories
2 22oz beers 550 calories
1/2 chocolate thunder - 750 calories
total - 4350 calories
Bread might be more, it's not listed on their website.
When I gain weight, it's almost always when I eat out excessively. I had a job where I was on the road 50% of the time, gained probably about 30lbs in 6 months doing that.
8000 calories is probably a bit high, but 6500-7500 is certainly within reach.
I'm probably outside the norm on this, but definitely not when your accounting to people who are overweight. When I was intentionally gaining weight, I put on 40 lbs in 4 months without any difficulty at all, but there was a lot of protein shakes in there.
Another way to quickly hit the high calorie marks - all you can eat chicken wings. I would eat 60ish wings, that's good for 4800 calories. Add in a few beers, you hit 5500 easy. Add in a few other meals, you are at 7500.
