agreed. these are both fine pieces of fashion, which are usually combined.

I'm from Seattle so I really don't object to the Uggs. Girls here wear them during winter with jeans or sweatsuits, not miniskirts when it's sunny out.

The "backward bangs" look. I tried to find a picture but failed somehow. The type of hairstyle where the bangs are like "slicked back", clipped to the top of the head. I think it looks terrible.

This isn't a good example, because they aren't wearing the sneakers to look good, they're wearing them for comfort. I don't think when she gets to her office her female co-workers are going to swarm around her like "ooooooh, girl, I looove those New Balance 654s on you!" Whereas if she showed up with her hair cut short for a "change of pace" they'd be swooning and complimenting her all day while the men exchanged e-mails about how awful she looked.

oh this is a gooooood one...i know a girl who is probably like an 8.5 with normal hair but rocks this hairdo pretty much every single day and it makes her look like a 5.

Short hair can look good on the right type of person, but it can't be short like a guys hair, it has to be layered or something, I don't know what the right term is. Natalie Portman shaving her head and letting it grow back is not going to work.
