Willing to Work in a new job every month Willing to Work in a new job every month

I got this idea from watching a TEDTalk on youtube. The idea is that I work in a different job (can be a different country) every month for a full year. I think having a webite or posting on a forum like this where others post job position that would like to take me on as a temp worker for a month. I don't even have to get paid all I would need is a place to sleep and food for that month.

It is my intention to learn new skills on the job and to gain new experiences while doing a hard days work. So that is my proposal what do you guys think?

I don't understand this sentence:

"I think having a webite or posting on a forum like this where others post job position that would like to take me on as a temp worker for a month."

What sorts of jobs are you talking about? Unskilled manual labor seems roughly like the only thing that anyone would consider hiring your for a month at a time, but that would not fulfill your desire to learn new skills.

What would the employers be getting out of this arrangement? If you don't have the required skills coming in the door, they aren't going to get useful output and are going to have to invest significant resources in trying to get you up to speed. If you could get up to speed at the job in two weeks, the payoff they would get is 2 weeks of your output. Seeing as how they generally get years of output from such an investment, why would it make sense for them to take you in for only a month?

Obviously if I'm doing a different job every month/week I won't have 12/52 different sets of skills. The employer will be getting an unpaid worker other than putting up basic living expenses. I'm not against manual labour either. I haven't thought it all through yet so the details are sketchy.

Are you adequately rolled for a year of travel and living expenses? If so, go for it.

Sketchy to say the least. I've heard bangladesh has a great fashion industry. You dont need that much skills as there are some skills that are applyable in most industries.

Robin -- it's been done. Volunteering seems perfect for you, though.

I just don't understand how your OP is this ****ty and you actually expect something.

What are your qualifications and/or skills ? What jobs are no-go/preferred ? Where do you live now ? What is your goal ? What skills would you want to learn specifically ? Do you have connections ? Do you have money ? The list goes on, put some effort in it.

He is obviously going to work under some traineeship kind of contract if this would ever take off, making this all perfectly possible.

I have skills in CAD. I have a full time job currently working in an architects office but I hate it. I live in UK . No connections. No money.

if farmwork is something you could see yourself doing you should look into WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms)

Quote:
VOLUNTEERS
Usually you live with your host and are expected to join in and cooperate with the day to day activities. In most countries the exchange is based on 4-6 hours help-fair exchange for a full day’s food and accommodation.
You may be asked to help with a variety of tasks like sowing seed, making compost, gardening, planting, cutting wood, weeding, harvesting, packing, milking, feeding, fencing, making mud-bricks, wine making, cheese making and bread making.
The length of your stay at the farm is negotiated directly between you and your host. Most WWOOF visits are between one and two weeks, though some may be as short as two or three days or as long as six months.

+1 to WWOOFing. FWIW, when I did it, it was more like 2-3 hours of work per day for housing and food plus the opportunity to meet cool people and places. You probably want to go with a buddy, though. Some places can be sketch.

I suggest you seriously consider getting some experience with sports betting/handicapping, keno, blackjack, prop bets, scams and grilling saffron chicken. I think I saw a thread somewhere in OOT where someone is somehow making this combo work for themself — well, more or less work out.

Okay, not really working out for them… but, you never know, you might be bettor at it!
