Why does the 1 Liter bottle of Coke cost more than the 2 liter bottle? - Page 4 - Other Topics Forum - Discuss Pop Culture, Arts and Entertainment

If I go to a drugstore to buy coke and the 2 liter bottle is 50 cents while the 1 liter bottle is 3 dollars, I'm still buying the 1 liter bottle. I can't think of any situation where I'd want a 2 liter bottle of coke. (1 liter bottle has to be cold ofc.)

I prefer the taste of ice-cold, flat coke when I am not too thirsty

Seriously, try it before you say it sucks! Room temperature flat coke is absolutely awful, but ice cold is great

Not sure of the prices in the states, but 1 breakfast burrito at McDonalds in lolCanada is $1.39 or you can get 2 for $2.99.. Sounds like a good deal to me!!

Burger King does this all the time
There can be 2 sanwhiches that cost 3.49 and one with the meal will be like 4.99 and one with the meal witll be 6.49

Ive also seen prices like this in donut shops:

They have an even worse example at burger king. You could get a 4 piece of chicken tenders for 99. cents. An 8 piece was 3.99 though... LOL.

The 4 pieces did come in a bag and were on the kids menu whilst the 8 piece came in a box.

Still think its like that..

I'd also add that I'd bet the 1L price is much higher than a grocery store, and the 2L price is much closer.

The same reason a 16oz costs between $1.50 and $2. Where a 2 liter costs the same or less. Because it's portable who is going to walk around chugging a 2 liter bottle soda.

The standard price isn't. But the 1L almost never goes on sale and the 2L does. Often, for less than the 1L.

also available is 6x710ml for $5.50, which certainly seems like the way to go when stocking up the fridge, considering the 2L is cheaper per unit but goes flat and is unwieldily, and the 1L (and smaller bottles/cans) are much more expensive per mL.

I think walking around with a 2L would be possible for someone with giant NFL QB sized hands tho.
