Speaking of exterminating small children:

There was a shooting in my town last week involving a 17 year-old killing a 5 year-old and injuring a 3 year-old. All are described as brothers and the names of the 17 and 5 year-olds have been released. Not releasing the name of the 3 year-old to 'protect his privacy'.

He's a frigging 3 year-old. WTF privacy? How does he even know anyone at that age? What are people going to post nasty, "you got shot" comments on his facebook?

Re: Who would you save: A beloved pet or a complete stranger?

This depends entirely on the situation. If you could just choose on paper "your pet" "stranger you have never met", it's obvious the pet would be the choice.
Now, if there was a raging fire in a building with tenants and you knew someone was still inside and knew you could get them out without dying yourself in the process and your dog was still inside. I don't think I would even think about the dog in this situation.
So it depends.

I'd like to think that a lot of people who are choosing pet didn't think about the decision much...

If you let a person die for your dog, you're going to regret that for the rest of your life.

Also, I agree strongly with James Van Der Beek.

If you voted stranger you're an idiot.

In the future, when he does know people, they don't want them Googling his name and finding out about this. He's too young to consent to something like that.

Re: Who would you save: A beloved pet or a complete stranger?

Depends.

If the pet is a dog, and not one of those little, idiotic lap dogs like a chihuahua or shih tzu, I'd probably choose it.

If the stranger is sexually attractive to me, I'd choose her.

If it's a choice between like a dude and a cat and I'm tired of cleaning it's turds out of the litter box, I'm probably not burning the calories to save either one of them.

If my Pug were still alive I would have saved her over all but maybe the 5 closest people in my life AINEC.

Also people suck!

Reading about woman who gave her kidney to her boss and then was fired LOL! Yes the DOG everytime. Might even save a strangers dog before the stranger.

Snap clicked on stranger.
I am no animal hater or w/e but that's just my decision. Also now going to exit this thread b/c I hate arguing with these people who are overly obsessed with animals.
I don't feel superior to them, but just would choose to save human life rather than animals.

I let people I dont know die for my dog all the time and I don't regret it.

Yesterday I paid $75 for a bag of her dog food, pretty sure I could have saved an african child from death with that money.
