Correct lyric is:

"I know that you can love me
When there's no one left to blame"

I always heard it as, "I know that you get lonely when there's no one left to blame." I think my version makes more sense and fits better.

Rolling Stones, When I have heard first time "under my thumb" I got instead "under my gun". That in turn gave my, then 20 year old, mind a variety of ideas for interpretation.

Were you familiar with the idiom "under my thumb" when you heard it? For native English speakers I think it's pretty unmistakable.

If I would have read it, I would have known the meaning of it. But purely from the acoustic somehow thumb and gun sounded similar. Especially because Mick Jagger does half swallow the b at the end of thumb. Probably some role had played that it was basically always a party situation when I listened to it.

Not mine, but one of my favorites. Dave Berry always heard the first line of this song as "Since she put me down, there's been owls puking in my bed."

As he wrote, "I hope these lyrics are wrong, because if they're right, Rhonda isn't going to come anywhere near him."

That's how you're supposed to pronounce thumb, the b is practically silent.

Apparently it blew Bob Dylan's mind that the Beatles were singing "I get high" in their pop song "I Want to Hold Your Hand".

No report on if he was disappointed the actual lyric was "I can't hide".
