Just wanted to update that there is a screaming good deal on this monitor from Amazon right now @ $699.99 for prime members (link). If my order wasn't arriving tomorrow from Dell I'd definitely buy from amazon due to faster shipping and no-hassle returns.

Couple of things I got at auction recently. On the left is the high value of the 1930's Graf Zepplin airmail set. It was issued during the depression when $2.60 was a lot of money, so not a lot of them were sold. Not really rare, but fairly expensive, especially in this nice a condition.

On the right a much rarer item - the stamp is worth about a penny or so, even though it was issued in the 1870's - but the KKK cancellation makes it a valuable item. At that time the KKK wasn't the completely racist outfit it became, more of a Rotary club/charity organization. The postmaster in a small town in Penn. made his own cancelling device as a sort of advertisement for his organization

First thing I could think of is this Gerber knife.

I don't think I could break it if I tried my hardest. I've actually used it to saw branches in half, used it on camping and rafting trips, it's just overall a beast. It's obviously better if you sharpen it on a whetstone, but it has a mini built in sharpener on the sheath for the smooth part of the blade that doesn't work that bad. Haven't had to use the butt of it to "egress from a helicopter" yet though. And the lashing holes to turn it into a spear are pretty LOL, because you're probably in Lord of the Flies if you're having to do that. If I don't lose it though, I don't think I'll need another camping knife.

Tumi crossbody bag that I bought at an outlet for $110. I use it for carrying headphones, phone charger, advil, lotion, snacks, money, etc. mostly when playing live poker.

i own two sleep masks. one that is similar to the one JL recommends, but worse i guess, so i may get that one. i also have the tempur sleep mask. this is a bit of a different style, it's much warmer and it sits on your eyes more. i prefer this style more but it wouldn't be suitable for a warm bedroom. anyway i've basically abandoned both as they always ended up off my head in the night unless i went super tight with the strap and hurt my ears.

i'd imagine the ringer is definitely better, though it's more expensive if that's an issue. those scrapers are back down to $5 now, i think they were $7 when i posted.
