LOL steve, expert play with the double-reverse vegetarian putdown. But then, you would have a lot of practice with it.

And asdfasdf32, better put the pseudo-intellectualism on the back burner until you can understand a simple, straightforward fact.

So, like, if I step on a bug knowing that it felt pain, is that unethical? It was in my house, though, so to be fair it was trespassing.

Also, I had some awesome steak fajitas tonight.

I like how people pretend vegetables don't feel pain.

And which straightforward fact is this?

If you knowingly stepped on it, then yes.

i'm a despicable breed of vegan which is someone who is just sticking to this for the sake of sticking to it. not for some greater cause, but rather b/c i don't want to switch back because i'm stubborn and i like to keep myself in check in some ways. i still drink frequently and eat french fries at work and ****. i've been on it for like 2.5 months and have discovered how to eat tons of kale and fruit with my blender and tons of rice/bean/veggie/potatoe mixes which are delicious but take about an hour out of my day to prepare, which i spend meditating or listening to podcasts.

i'll never go back to eating like **** after keeping myself in this phase for so long. i was eating dirty **** as of pretty recently, but will not regress to that point again, at least on the reg.

i think it's just way easier to be vegan than people would suspect once you learn to blend kale and fruits and learn to cook some rice and beans type ****. tofu absorbs whatever flavors and is a decent meat substitute as far as taste goes. i don't really want to eat like many, many ounces of steak again in my life... i'd rather eat sweets/nut mixes in excess.

anyway in conclusion i like to force myself to do things which i'm uncomfortable with and i just got more used to this one than i would have suspected that i would have, but want to eat cheese (and pizza, i work at a pizza place and its f difficult not to eat it).

EDIT: ah, last thing. i eat as much kale as i possibly can. usually about 1-1.5 bunches/day which is like $3-4. kale and a bunch of veggies/fruit in a blender is something everybody should do imo. just really easy, cost effective, best **** you can eat, insane amounts of energy. ****ing delicious, too.

Sure it's easy for a while. But then meat deficiency will gradually set in.

Question for the vegetarians here: If you got lost in the woods one day and had to kill an animal (catch a fish, kill a squirrel, whatever) to survive, would you do that or would you let yourself die instead? To further throw a wrench into the question, let's say your wife and kids were with you and you'd all die if you didn't kill an animal to survive.

Rippin, your post makes me wonder if eating too much meat can damage your brain.

I, for example, am a vegan because I can. We live in a modern world and don't have to do bad things to animals in order to survive.

If I got lost in the woods, I wouldn't be able to survive not killing animals, so I would definitely hunt and eat them and find nothing wrong with that.

Also, very vegan I know eats eggs and drinks milk if it comes from their grandma's farm where animals are threated well and are happy.

Rippin, you scenario is about as insightful as a highschool ethics example like:

Question for everyone who thinks stealing is wrong: If you were starving to death would you steal a loaf of bread or let yourself die instead? To further throw a wrench into the question, let's say your wife and kids were also starving and you'd all die if you didn't steal a loaf of bread to survive. To throw another wrench into the question, what if the bakery were about to close and they were just going to throw the loaf of bread in the garbage? What if the bakery had already closed and the loaf of bread were in the dumpster on bakery property, and would be hauled off with the trash before the baker gets to work the next day and would never know it was taken? Would you have yourself and your family starve to death rather than steal a loaf of bread?

You really know how to ask the tough questions to reveal the hypocrisy behind vegetarianism.

Grego, the questions you asked about stealing are fine and imo, should be asked of people who think that stealing is wrong.

What if the chicken that isn't slaughtered because I don't eat poultry goes on a pecking rampage and kills 100s of babies? Does that make me evil?

LOL. Dude, all you have to do is reread my post. This time try using some comprehension though. It couldn't be much simpler.

All I saw was the appeal to nature fallacy. Is that all you have, really?

Try thinking about it. Deeply. I know it would probably be a first, but still, you can try. I can't make you do it though, you have to want to do it.
