Nice track, looks great. I used to race r/c cars back in the late 90's . Brian Kinwald still race? LOL

If anyone is interested in watching some world class rc action, the IFMAR World Championship is going on right now in Chico.

http://live.liverc.com/167-IFMAR_110...f-Road_Worlds/

The guy that built this track, Kevin Jelich, previously owned the track I race at, but he recently jumped ship and moved up to Chico to build and run this track. This is basically the best track ever.

yeah, they push you hard to a subscription.

the mains ended up being some of the best racing ever. A3 was off the hook

is there some rule that says some guy jumping on your car from behind starts after the one getting wrecked?

Great driving.
Looks almost like an onroad track with jumps.
They using lipos these days?
Thinman's Backyard Saga, from VROOM VROOMs to PUTT PUTTs Quote

Yeah, everything is Lipo for a while now. 1/10 scale runs 7.4v 2S. That is probably my only frustration with the race. They should have been racing 8 minute mains minimum. They can get 12 mins easy on a pack. Most of them are running 5.5 or 6.5 motors.

track was rolled with a 3 ton roller and sprayed with sugar water after. was in great shape, even after 2 rebuilds during the week because of heavy rain.

wtf you flip your car on the last lap and just get a reset like youre playing need for speed?

Seriously, that's some weak ****. And what the **** happened behind them that they didn't get passed?

lol, if they didnt flip you back over, there would be some races with no finishers.

Naoto from Japan is they guy who was in second that landed on top of the leader. After they got marshalled (flipped back over), he actually waited too long out of an abundance of sportsmenship.

it wasnt actually he fault entirely that he landed on him. the leader took the inside out line on the table top jump. Naoto, in second and on the final lap, took it outside in order to double-double the entire section.

it was neither of their fault and perfect world, the marshall drops them both down at the same time, but that is not realistic.

....oh, plus, rumor has it leaders MOM was in the stands making a scene when it happened. lolololololsoccermomgoaway

clearly the race would be improved if the cars all had big wheels so they could drive from either side. let the best car win not whoever lucks into getting the quickest marshall

Off road has always been 5 minutes.
I've raced in plenty of 8 minute mains, I'm a 1/12th scale on roader.
I raced the IFMAR worlds in 1/12th and 1/10th on road.

Why even call it off road? Might as well be asphalt with jumps.

Don't crash and you're not at the mercy of a marshal.

I was once in second place at a big race with a half a lap on third.
Time was up and all I had to do was make one turn and cross the finish line.
I planted it on that final turn and the marshal didn't see me and let
me sit there until 3 cars from a half a lap away passed me and I got 5th.

so it turns out that the rain received above may be the last rain i see in san jose during my lifetime. :/. so i decided to finally get off my butt and work on the track.

first thing i did was to unfortunately loose about 3-4 feet of track so i could put a porch on the pitshed...

installed some proper drainage. dug up the middle section where water was pooling in order to dry it out good. then dug out a drainage ditch

...and then finally, i am filling in the little triple near the trees and making it a tabletop...

Thin - did you see that Nor-Cal hobbies is moving to San Jose? Supposed to be an even bigger place than their Union City location. I think the new address is 2099 S. 10th Street, San Jose, California 95112.

Not sure how close that will be to you but could be an opportunity for you to do some racing if that interests you...
