I've been schooled by bighurt previously itt that questions about entries make sense, but it seems like you are trying pretty hard not to understand the explanation I provided.

There is a difference. Common usage. Nobody refers to themselves as a motorist in verbal conversation. They say driver. Very few people ever utter the word motorist unless they are talking about a news event. They say driver.

a thing that shouldn't piss me off but it does:
there are lots of scenes in tv shows with characters holding to-go coffee but it's painfully obvious by their handling of the cups and pretend sipping the cups are empty. how hard is it to put some water in a paper cup and at least give the appearance of having liquid inside?

I went to Cracker Barrel for lunch today. I ordered the breakfast with eggs, bacon, biscuits, etc. It came with a slice of orange on the plate as a garnish. That just pissed me off. It's trying to be fancy for the sake of being fancy.
