I find the opposite is true in England. I always buy the store brand cheap ones and they taste great. When I have had the branded more expensive ones they were all mushy and disgusting, Birdseye ones you don't even have to chew!

Same goes for chicken nuggets. You can get a bag with 18 in for £1 from the main supermarkets like Tesco, Asda etc or if you go for they cheaper ones at Iceland you can get two bags of 50 for £1 and again they taste nicer.

Someone also mentioned bacon in this and again I find the more expensive bacon to be worse. It's often thicker and does not crisp, in my opinion bacon should always be crispy. I forget how much the expensive bacon is but I buy 4 packs (64 rashers) for £8 from my local butchers and freeze them so they don't go bad and everyone who has bacon at mine says it's delicious.

Tattoos was the first thing that came to mind, I knew people that would look for a cheaper artist.

Anything for you home, people want the lowest price and expect the highest quality of work. Visually, you don't want to go cheap on finish carpentry, it usually will look like sht, also tile and granite you want to get someone good, and that costs money.

I never go cheap when I buy bulk lentils. My preferred brand costs $1,000 per two lentils.

And I buy a bag full.

One should never go cheap on anything that's way worse quality and only saves you a small amount of money anyway.

People have given good examples, things like toilet paper and garbage bags.

Is buying the cheap ass store brand that's terrible really worth the .50 you save? Clearly no.

The only time you should consciously be going the cheapo route is if the cheap alternative is either MUCH cheaper than the good stuff and you can't afford it or if the cheap stuff runs pretty close to the good stuff in terms of quality.

Another good rule of thumb, the longer you'll have something or something you'll use a lot, don't go the cheap route. This is the shoes, mattresses, and tattoos category.

I needed emergency headphones yesterday, paid $1.50 at Dollarama.

They're not very good.

Yeah, see, I assumed that outside of good headphones they're all pretty much the same or above a minimum baseline of sound on both sides at the same time and whatever you grab off the peg is fine.

This is them, $0.50 wholesale. The cord is nice and soft, though!

I'm sure many with enough money for a Mercedes would roll threw Ruth's Chris steak house instead if they had a prompt drive thru and food easy to eat while driving...

sushi is a terrible answer.

expensive sushi = less customers = fish not as fresh. they don't run out and catch it when you order it.

go where it is crowded.

Beef burgers are a thing you should absolutely not go cheap on. Cheap beef burgers are just awful!

Sunglasses easily the worst answer ITT. Luxottica makes almost all the "luxury" sunglasses sold in the world, and they also make a bunch of the non-luxury brands as well. No real difference in quality in anything they sell.

Many people lose/damage sunglasses constantly, so buying expensive is just burning money. Just get something cheap with UV protection that looks ok and call it a day.
